Not a bad little bar. I lived just down the street on Bornheimer Landstrasse during my field study during the spring of 2007.
Be warned, this is probably a gay bar. I went there three or four times, and once I saw two lesbians making out violently the whole time I was there. Not that there's anything wrong with that. In fact, I loved it.
The beer selection was typical South Germany. You're not going be amazing, but if you're in Germany in the summer, you going to find some hefeweizens that will make it worth your while.

Harveys is a bistro and bar located right on the Friedberger Platz. The nearest U-bahn stations are Musterschule (U5) or Merianplatz (U4).
The bar seats about 6 with wooden bar chairs. There are about a dozen tables with seating for 4+ at each. There is some outdoor seating in warmer weather. The bar is made of wood. The ceiling is rather high, the walls are painted in pastel colors or murals, and there are large windows looking out on the square. There are very large, stone vases with flowers on the bar. There was soft jazz, pop, or techo playing. The crowd was mixed, but tended toward 20-30's.
There was a full bar with beer and mixed drinks as well as coffee drinks. There was a modest menu of food, and they also offered a Sunday brunch. There were 3 beers on-tap: Früh Kölsch, Ureich Pils, and Eichbaum Hefeweiss Hell. There were also 3-5 beers in bottles including a Kristal Weiss, a Dunkel Weiss, and a Pils (some of the bottles were duplicates of beers on-tap). The service was good, with proper, branded glassware for each beer. The prices were reasonable. Also, there is a "Mittwoch Cocktail Happy Hour" from 19 to 23 hours (5 Euros for cocktails), and on Holidays "Longdrinks" are 4 Euros all day.
Overall a fairly comfortable place with a few interesting beers. Worth a visit if you have extra time and feel like taking a little walk.
