From 330 ml bottle. L. Appears appropriate. S. A definite fruit tinge for mine, within a light grainy waft. T. Taste is similar, but not sweet particularly. Starts with grain, then fruit/herby middle and a dry finish. F. Light carbonation and light mouth feel. O. I am a big fan of this beer and have been since I first tried it many years ago. I don't drink it often though, but bought a 6 pack the other day and am enjoying it as much as usual. Something about the fruit tinge, not sweet or powerful, that I like.

Served cold from 500ml brown bottle into pilsner mug.

L) Light golden clear , with relatively thin white head for a helles. Head disappeared quickly to a film.

S) Fairly pungent hallertau hops as well as a decent malt hit.

T) Nice soft bready Munich malt flavour, hint of fragrant hops. No bitterness, a very faint sweetness on the finish.

F) Refreshing with no bitterness. Less fizzy than a lot of German lagers.

O) I wasn't expecting this to be a stand-out Helles, but it is actually pretty good although not quite in the league of Augustiner and Tegernseer. Recommended for any lager fans.

Review: Can of Lowenbrau beer 5.20%ABV

Löwenbräu is brewed under the famous Bavarian Purity Laws. This should mean that this beer is full of natural flavours, crisp and clear and fully balanced with its taste, a quality assured product from Germany. A place where a well crafted beer is expected and anything less is simply not tolerated by the locals.

The appearance was of a gorgeous golden yellow colour that had a very good head and great lacing. Looked so good I couldn’t wait to begin drinking the beauty!

Found a faint aroma, smelt mostly of what a normal smelling lager should be like, malty and refreshing.

Was a lovely tasting drink that had no strong flavours or bitter aftertaste to it, just an awfully good session drink.
A clean, crisp, smooth and well balanced beer, Löwenbräu was really easy to enjoy. A good pure Deutsche lager. Refreshing.

I have to mention the can which is one of the most attractive I've seen. Beautiful duck egg blue with great old style lettering and lion symbol. And the gold gives it a touch of class... even in a can.
Pale straw appearance with thin head but good lacing lasting to the end of the drink. Good carbonation in a tall pilsener glass.
Smell is very mild. A hint of hops and some lemon and honey just about detectable.

The taste is very well balanced and super easy drinking. There is, however, just enough herbal hop bitterness and lemony sweetness to make this beer recognisable as a helles lager.

A very subtle but well made German beer with less bitterness than pilseners.

I rate this 78/100

Pours a very light yellow with a thin white head that dissipates quickly and leaves scant lacing. Smells slightly hoppy, but is dominated by malts and grain. Taste is light and equal parts malty sweetness in the beginning and hops in the finish. Nothing particularly special going on here, but nothing offensive either. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, with good carbonation, adn drinkability is perfectly acceptable. A solid import lager that is a decent drink, but offers nothing beyond the ordinary.

Pours a normal golden lager colour with thick foamy head that quickly settles.

The smell is slightly grainy, but not unpleasant.

The flavour is rich and malty, but slightly sweet. It is very smooth and highly drinkable.

Overall, I wouldn't rave about this beer. It's good, but not enough character for my taste.

Had in a tall beer glass
A: light yellow, clear, decent 2.5-finger head that quickly dissipates; very few carb beads
S: stinks; macrobrew machinery stench all over it
T: very simple, non-complex beer; very little hop profile
M: overly watery
D: it's certainly not the worst macrobrew you could get, but why bother?

I have had this several times, and almost didn't rate it because it has a skunked character to it. I was waiting to taste one like I had in Germany, which was much better. I suppose that is not happening. My suggestion to this company is to use best drank by dates and a brown bottle.
It pours a light, bright yellow. Even though the color is very average for Euro lagers it has a nice, foamy head that is fairly well retained. The carbonation is moderate and steady.
The smell has small hints of a sweet, somewhat floral malty aroma, but the hops are obviously fairly skunked, producing a background of a skunky smell.
Unfortunately, it has a skunked flavor. I don't know why they use green bottles when it says "imported" on it and they know that it has to travel far. Beyond the skunkiness, which is present but not overwhelming, there is not much to say about this beer. It has some attempts at a floral sweetness, but is rather bland.
If it weren't for the skunk, it probably would not be so bad. There is still a nice malty sweetness and an overall refreshing feel to it. Unfortunately, it is not that drinkable because of the ever-lasting skunk background.

A - Nice bright yellow, extremely clear. Good amount of fine lathery head. Disappears quickly though.

S - Malty aroma. Herbal or grassy hop aroma. Lager-esque

T - Pale malt and spicy hops. Very clean.

M - Light and watery. Same old commercial lager (although a step above most)

D - Drinkable.

Not bad as far as a massed produced lager goes. Not outstanding though.

Got this because I am living in Jordan and there is not much else to drink. Tastes much better in Germany than it does here...

Pours straw yellow color with a very weak fizzy head. There is a nice looking carbonation coating the side of the glass though.

The smell and taste are both slightly bitter, but not in a pleasant sort of way. Maybe something about the way the hops mix with the grain is not perfect. The flavour is not complex, it is good, but does not quite satisfy. It is easy to drink but you expect more from a Bavarian beer.

The mouth-feel is perhaps a bit light, but I have not had a beer in a long time so I don't really care. The carbonation is nice. The beer is a bit plain, but I don't really have any other options in Jordan. If I were back in Germany or the US I would get something different.

Not bad...apparently they've figured something out over the years since 1383.

It had a nice clear gold appearance with a decent white head and decent lacing. The head actually stayed around longer that I expected. Light and slightly flowery aroma, nothing skunky. The taste is very smooth with a nice full malty flavor....much better than I was expecting.

Golden straw in color with a quick-to-leave white head.

Some grains and a faint grassiness.

A mild hint of grassy hops and some slightly musty grains.

Light and heavily carbonated.

Finishes very crisp and dry, but the mustiness threw me off a bit. Its not offensive though, and not a bad choice for the style.
