12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 10/28/2014. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, brown sugar, light nuttiness, light orange zest, herbal, grass, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malts and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, brown sugar, light nuttiness, light orange zest, herbal, grass, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Slight earthy herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, brown sugar, light nuttiness, light orange zest, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good robustness and complexity of dark/bready malts and earthy hop flavor; with a solid malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 5.1%. Overall this is a nice malty amber ale style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/bready malts and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Poured from undated 12 oz. can into a Pilsner glass. It pours a slightly hazy, rosy-amber color with a big, fluffy, ecru-colored cap and lots of soapy lacing inside the glass. Its nose is overwhelmingly malty with notes of caramel, apple, and maybe a whiff of cherry. The primary taste is sweet caramel malt augmented by apple, pear, and cherry. The grist provides an earthy background and there is no noticeable hop bitterness. But it does have a bit of an odd, metallic taste at the finish. Its mouth feel is moderately creamy with appropriate carbonation, and at 5.1% ABV and a 12 oz. format you could certainly pound a few. Overall, I think it's better than the BA average. It won't win awards but it's perfectly drinkable.

Pours a deep red amber - it certainly looks the part. That's about where the party ends. It smells like yogurt and tastes like blueberry yogurt. I thought it tasted better on the second sip but I was quickly reminded that no, it was not better. Unfortunate.

I really like this brewery, although this isn't of their best beers in my opinion I still think it's pretty good. For those complaining it doesn't have enough hops, I'd recommend trying their Early Autumn ale which is a hoppy amber ale. This beer wasn't intended to be hoppy, it's one of those malty sweet ambers. The best thing about it is the mouthfeel, it's very smooth and soft.

Can poured a clear orange amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of caramel, fruitiness and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of caramel, earthiness and light fruitiness with a crisp lingering caramel finish.
