Growler purchased this afternoon.
A - Pours a hazy golden with a one-finger head that quickly reduces to a ring of foam. Some shockingly nice rings of lacing form.
S - Sweet, vegetal corn aroma dominates, with some fruity notes (strawberries or similar). Faint stale hops character.
T- Very sweet and corny up front, with a fruity mid-palate (more strawberries), and a surprising level of hoppiness (moderate) balances out the finish. A very slight alcoholic bite becomes noticeable as the beer warms a bit.
M - Numbs the mouth within a half a pint, so it's probably 7% ABV or greater. Warming effect on the mouth and back of the throat as well. Carbonation on the heavy side of moderate, with a medium body.
D - Keeping the style in mind, this is definitely above average for a malt liquor. It can get warmer and it won't be foul and disgusting. A reasonably interesting take that is well-suited for consumption during Michigan Tech's annual Winter Carnival celebration, or on frigid winter nights in general. Olde English this ain't, and that's a very good thing.
