The Great Dane knows Barleywine like nobodys business. This isnt as good as the 02 but it aint bad either. Deep mahogany, lightly bubbly. Porty aroma, caramel, anise, and booze in the taste. Like a lighter version of the 02. Very good. Quite drinkable for a barleywine.

The latest vintage of their Barleywine, it appears as if the stock of '02 is gone. Too bad 'cuz it was tasty. Served in a brandy snifter
Pours a dark ruby with a skim of bubbles on top. Overall, a milder version of the '02. Port wine, dark fruit, aromatic hops, anise, caramel malt and a hefty alcoholic kick characterize the smell and taste. A more drinkable barleywine than the '02, heavier on the caramel malt and hop than the dark anise and prune. Another great barleywine from the boys at the Dane.
