served at the dane...the night after the great taste
I think is different than the 03 bourbon barleywine last year and the board labeled this merely "bourbon barleywine"
appearance: served in a nice dane snifter...body is the norm for a dane barleywine - muddy, murky, dark mahogany....light bubbly beige head with little retention
smell: nice potent aromas...brown sugar, decent booze presence, light bourbon, woody
taste: nice thick malt structure on this one, caramel, brown sugar, sweet dark cherries, fig, rather nutty, oak and vanilla come through nicely, bourbon presence is pretty smooth, syrupy and moderately boozy...pretty nice
mouthfeel: pretty smooth, a little flat
drinkability: just fine

a: rich, deep amber in color with a light off colored head
s: Deep, rich malts give loads of fruit and a proper level of ethanol. Love the soggy, malty wood aromas thick with vanilla. Lightly hopped in the English style, which works really well here.
m: low carbonation, smooth and thick on the tongue
t: High levels of caramel malt sweetness give a fruity depth to the flavor, with deep vanilla and wood from the barrels. Really enjoy the toffee, and especially the butterscotch, that comes out as the beer warms.
d: quite tasty and pretty easy as a sipper
been craving a bb dane bwine for a few months, glad it was around before I had to leave...this one hit the spot
