BEER INFO

Brewed by:

Style: American Pale Ale (APA)

Alcohol by volume (ABV): not listed

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
In true pioneer spirit we offer this brew as our translation of the British pale-ale style. The full flavor of American Cascade hops pours out at you from every angle, the result of adding hops 5 different times to the brew, including "dry-hopping". An underlying, rich malt flavor supports the crisp and floral hop bitterness to produce a thirst-quenching, flavorful brew.

Tap beer purchased at brewpub in Madison, WI - stored in a quart can (rather than a growler) - purchased the day before drinking:

Pours hazed copper with a creamy lasting head. Spotted trailing lace sticks.

The smell is of bread and caramel with floral hop spicing with with tropical/citric fruits.

The taste is of pale and caramel malt character with slight minerally touch. Sweetness balanced by drying tropical/citric/floral hop bitterness. Balanced finish.

It has a smooth medium body.

A balanced pale ale that has characteristics of both American and English Pale Ale.

From notes on 1/18/14

Ruby red color. Little head. Not much aroma. Very earthy flavor. Minimal hop taste. Much more prominent malt. Ok
