L- A lovely deep chestnut-red, clear (filtered), pours with 5mm pale tan head.
S- A caramel/toffee smell to it.
T- Oh wow!! Quite rich, a touch sweet, a fruity side with a brief bitter/sour note that inadventently makes me shudder! Yep, quite rich and fruity, and also the ABV% is pretty discernable and adding to the impact.
F- Quite full-on, pretty rich, this one is for slow-sipping, ideal for colder months. Chill according to how well you tolerate the boundary of rich somewhat sweet coming across in the glass.
O- Just before this beer I'd a pretty full-on pungent black/porter beer, I feared impairing how this one came over -> zero probs, this one is Loud+Proud! What a lovely beer, what a shame I can only get this as something of a niche import as I'd very happily buy it again.
330ml bottle BB: 03/03/22. Bought from BeersOfEurope/UK for home delivery.

Oy vey, where to start? The feel is way too syrupy, almost like a wort. The taste is actually solid with toffee, vanilla, molasses, and almonds leading, could use some more depth however. Smell is toffee and raisin with a strange corn malt sweetness on the finish.

From 2d2despuma. In Teku glass. Watching True Detective 2x05. Great aroma. Some dark fruits and some caramel in its taste. Pretty enjoyable. Avg 4.16.
30 Apr 2108. New label. In Teku glass. Playing Avernum 2. Plenty of roasted malts, with molasses and a bit of metal. Abv very well hidden. Drinks well but its missing something to stand out

L: -pours a clear dark brown with ruby tinges and a small, quickly dissipating beige head
S: -caramel,toffee,vinous tartness,cherries
T: -corn,ridiculous amounts of sugar, caramel, toffee, underlying tartness with a toasty finish
F: -medium body,low-medium carbonation
O: Ridiculously sweet Beer, possibly to hide the tartness. Don’t know how close this comes to a proper scotch ale, since this was my first
