It's a good, drinkable stout, but it does not have a big, full bodied flavor. (as compared to say a Founders stout or porter)

A decent oatmeal stout... but nothing that differentiates from the flooded market. Low, light lacing. Very drinkable but would prefer a bit more to this stout.

Canned on 10/09/19. Pours an almost total black color, ruddy red highlights if you hold it up to the light. Pours with a finely textured head that dissipates rather quickly to no ring at all. Malty, roasty aroma. Taste is malty with nice roasted notes, a bit of char in the background, some semi-sweet chocolate notes - really rather tasty, Mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side for an oatmeal stout. Not the best stout I've ever had, but nicely done and at $10 a 4 pack of 16 oz cans it's hard to beat.

16 oz. can.
"CANNED 08.29.19
against the grain"
Moderate pour yields a one inch tan head over a near black body with some lacing. Nose of dark malt, slight chocolate, and even slighter dark fruit. Taste mirrors nose pretty closely with a slightly bitter finish and a touch of sweetness throughout. Good feel and overall, a beer I could drink again anytime with lunch and still go back to work. Cheers!

Had this at a Beer festival in update NY, and we felt it was one of the best oatmeal stouts we've ever had

Poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger's worth of off white to tan foamy head. Mildly dissolved to leave some messy lace.
The aroma had some sweet grains, sweet oats, dark fruits, dark fruits, brown sugar and molasses. Nice blend for the most part.
The flavor yields towards the sweetness of the prior mentioned aromas to blend. Full molasses-y to dark fruity and sweet oat-like aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping to sessionable sort of in between quality about it. Carbonation and ABV felt on par. Finish was fairly smooth with the dark fruits, molasses and a light coffee grounds note to it.
Overall, as an English oatmeal stout, I'd say it works. Perhaps a bit sweeter than expected but one I would come back to.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours black with just a hint of red, and a small light brown head. Smells of chocolate and sweet molasses. Tastes of sweet dark roasted grain with chocolate notes. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, an above average beer.
