Poured on-tap and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, brown color with a thin, filmy, off-white head. Nose of subtle sweet maple and rich nutty sweetness. Flavors are bold and rich hazelnut and peanut, with a sweet maple highlight throughout. Very smooth and balanced. Rich, sweet aftertaste, with a smooth, clean finish. Not cloying at all, which is impressive. Very tasty, balanced beer. Took a growler of this one home.

Brew poured from my growler to a nice dark brown color with fairly good sized light tan head that had a nice amount of retention. The aromas where very similar to their normal brown ale but did have a sweetness that clearly comes through in the nose as well as on the palate. Nice roasted malt aroma comes out as well. Not sure if the hops used here are the Mt. Hood that are typically in their Brown but overall the hops flavors and scents where very hard to come by but for this brew that is quite all right. The roasted flavors come out more clearly with each sip and tend to go towards a nut like flavor. While this brew is not the best offering from Brown's it is worth the try and with it being on a rotating/seasonal schedule. For me it was a little to sweet after a while which took away from it but that is what the brew is suppose to be highlighting the maple sugars used. All in all another nice offering from a great local brewpub.

A - Pours a clear brown with red mixed in and a half finger of off white head. The head faded farily quickly to a fing leaving behind some lacing on the glass.

S - Aroma is a mix of caramel malts and strong nuttiness. There is also some nice maple aroma in the background.

T - Starts off with sweet caramel malts and a lot of nuttiness. There is smoothing maple sweetness in the background. Through the middle some more nutty flavors and some fruity flavors come out. The finish is a mix of sweet rich caramel malts, nutty flavors, and some maple sweetness that linger nicely.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Very smooth and crisp. There is some nice lingering maple sweetness in the finish that lingers nicely.

D - Very drinkable. The maple flavor mixed in is a really nice addition. It is not too sweet but really makes the beer very enjoyable. Everything else feels very nicely balanced around it.

A: Chestnut body with a good off-white head.

S: Light biscuit aroma.

T: Good biscuit and bread balanced nicely by the hop bitterness. No detectable hop flavor. Aftertaste is very nutty with possible maple sweetness.

M: solid medium body with good thickness through the aftertaste.

D: Perhaps a touch too much hop bitterness.
