Decent beers on tap, although nothing too adventurous. Here's what they had:

Long Trail Ale
Magic Hat #9
Bud Light
Dogfish Head 60 Minute
Smuttynose Robust Porter
Sam Adams Winter Lager
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

I got there just after 10:00 on a Thursday night, which meant a $2 beer (happy hour). I think this runs at least 5 nights a week, maybe 7. Even at full price, pints are only $3.25 ($4.00 for a 20 oz.), and pitchers are $12.00. Not sure what they had for bottles, although they were running a special on Victory Storm King Stout for $3.25. Penuche's has a dive bar feel to it, although is a lot more pleasant to visit now that there is no smoking. There is a pool table which is usually in use, and they have live music a few nights a week - which tends towards jam bands, which matches the typical crowd (think Phish/Grateful Dead fans). A few years ago, they added some decent flat screen TVs, which will have some sort of sporting event on (Boston pro team game if available, if not, random baseball/football/basketball game). Overall, given the cheap prices and solid (if unspectacular) beer list, this is one of the better bets for beer in Concord. They also now serve food, but haven't tried it yet, so can't comment for now... Would like to see them mix in a few new beers - maybe more NH offerings - just for something different. Still worth a visit, though, if you are in town, although certainly not worth a special trip.

Go to the nuche now and again. Lots of smoke. They had 15 brews on tap. Kinda sad though that they just fill your glass again with the new brew. Not impressed there. They have two happy hours that the drafts are $2. Basically it is just a mass beer pouring. People hand them a glass and thier money, they get beer. No care is really taken in the beer pour as well.

If you want to drink with a bunch of friends, play a little pool or darts, then this place is cool. If you want to savour your beer, don't come here. The smoke and handling isn't that great.

Pretty scummy bar and the funny thing is that a bar nearby in Keene shares an identical name and is just as terrible. Sounds like a franchise deal to me. Good selection, they have beers you'll never find in Concord (the next best bar if i may say so is the Hawian Isle II, which has not a lot of beer but 2 dollar manhattans). A bright spot in a pretty lame bar scene. Kinda scummy but the beer is really cheap and they have lots of places for you to sit. It never gets that crowded and they have bands there every now and again that play. They have some rare out of season beer but I think that's becuase it's really cheap to have. The Keene bar has one dollar you call it nights, I am not sure if this bar does. The Keene bar also has "spin the wheel nights" where it can get as low as .50 cents or as high as 1.75 for ANY BEER ON TAP. again, check it out. This bar has a happy hour that's pretty reasonable. If you find youself eyeing down a line in Concord NH, go and have a beer at the 'nuche and if that gets you down go to the Hawian Isle and have a 2 dollar manhattan.

The 'nuche is definetley the only bar bar in Concord. If you are a non-smoker (such as myself) you will have lung cancer by the end of the night. For that reason I only go out once a month or so and can only stay for a beer or two. The only thing that keeps me coming back is that they have the best beer on-tap in Concord. They usually have a 4-6 local microbrews and a few of the 'big' brewers. There is something for every taste. As for enertainment there are two pool tables, two dart boards, foosball and a couple of video games. I usually am able to play foosball but pool is usually a long wait. A good bar that will be great once NH passes a no smoking in bars ordinance.
