Extremely surprised by this one given the brewery... excellent take on a pumpkin ale however and I'm not going to rate it low like others just because the brewery is mainstream

Not usually a pumpkin beer drinker, but this is the first one I can get behind. A powerful aroma, but a much lighter flavor profile than I'd expected. Opposed to Shipyard or most commercially produced pumpkin beers, this is more beer than pumpkin pie.

Leaves behind a definite ale flavor while satisfying with allspice, pumpkin, and cinnamon. Attababe Magic Hat.

Pours clear, orange-brown in color, with 1/4 inch head. Flavors are the typical for this style: cinnamon, clove, ginger, and brown sugar. This to me is an average pumpkin beer...everything I expect from the style, but noting spectacular. Nothing I would turn down, but I prefer several others in the style.

Brown in color with just a trace of fingernail thin white head covering about a quarter of the top. Good clarity. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin. The flavor is comprised of nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumpkin, but nutmeg is definitely the lead spice. The mouth is pretty busy with all of those spices pricking my tastebuds.

Poured from a 12.7 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a deep amber orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About a finger of off white head which settles into a thin creamy layer.

Smell: A toasty, earthy, and fairly sweet aroma with a scent of pumpkin spice and caramel malt. Pumpkin spice hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and ginger. Sweet toasted malt with hints of caramel, biscuit, grains, and yeast. Hops are pretty subtle. A pretty decent aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a toasty, earthy, and sweet malt forward taste with notes of pumpkin spice and caramel malt. Solid presence of pumpkin spice with notes of cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and ginger. Toasted malt with sweet notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, grains, and yeast. Subtle earthy hops. A solid taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Creamy and pretty smooth.

Overall: A solid take on a Pumpkin Ale. Nice mix of spice and caramel malt.

Orangey caramel colored with a low head that dissolves quickly to nothing. Aroma of faint malt and pumpkin spice. Flavors of bready malt, some low squashy vegetal flavors, not offputting, followed by nutmeg notes, and some subtle cinnamon. Nutmeg rises up frequently, and emerges again in the finish. Notes of vanilla linger, punctuated with a slight peppery bite. Would like a bit more cinnamon and a bit less nutmeg, but overall a decent pumpkin beer.
