Not too bad for a mixed case. It almost accomplishes its name but def on the malty caramelly side. Would have liked a little more hops or a hoppy bite on the end but it remained on the sweet. Easy drinking. Worth a try, but there are better hoppy browns available.

Mahogany brown colored with good clarity and a quarter inch of khaki colored head. Brussels lacing. I get a light scent of chocolate malt when I really struggle to detect it. The dark malt with chocolate notes presents itself more boldly in the flavor. There's also the twist of having some grapefruit like hoppiness in the mix. I'm not sure this flavor pairing is working. The mouth is moderately carbonated.

L: Pours brilliant brown under a 2” off-white foam stand that rapidly dissipates. It’s a very pretty beer.

S: Light sweetness, faint chocolate, some spice, overall aromas are light.

T: Light chocolate, spicy grain, starts with a light sweetness and finishes dry. Has big rich malt flavors with medium to medium low hop flavors and bitterness.

F: Medium body and medium carbonation, creamy.

O: A nicely done English style brown that has the advantage of a brown bottle that prevents it from having the skunk aroma all to common with a popular English brand.

Deep amber hue almost a chestnut amber not necessarily brown...light khaki shaded head.

Aroma has light nutty notes minimal herbal hops a hint of caramel notes as well that's it.

Flavor has an overt sweetness that pretty much lingers there's a nutty quality and bland muddled malt profile that's it.

Mouthfeel a bit cloying because of unnatural carbonation levels and the mix of lingering malt sweetness on the palate.

Overall, the variety pack made it worth it for a beer I could try without investing in it, albeit drinkable this is nothing I will look for again!

12 oz bottle served in a nonic.

Pours with a deep amber body that has excellent clarity but is topped by a head that has limited retention.

Aroma: malts and hops in about equal measure, with hints of brown bread, flowers

Flavor: good flavor of a mildly hoppy brown ale up front, followed by a clash of flavors mid-taste on as the hops kick in. Mild+ bitter overall.

Feel: fairly smooth medium body with prickly, medium carbonation.

O: This is basically a brown APA. Like many of its big brother black IPA relatives, has hops that don't mesh as well with the malts as can be hoped. Initially served at about 40F, this did improve, becoming more malt-forward, with some warming.

Poured from a bottle into a craft beer glass. It had a hazy brown color that was clear on the bottom half that had a very small head that didn't leave lacing. It smells of pine and hops with a light nuttiness. There was a slightly sweet nutty taste up front, with sharp pine taking over in the middle before ending with a slightly bitter hop flavor. It was certainly a hoppy brown ale as advertised, but it was slightly unbalanced and could've used more nuttiness to balance out the hops. Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. It had a pleasant mouthfeel despite the bitter hops aftertaste. Overall, it is a well hopped brown ale that left room for improvement. I'm glad I tried it but I didn't like it enough to buy it again.
