Electric Peel is an electric IPA that sends shocks of citrus hop flavors through a medium malt body amplified by grapefruit peel, leaving behind a bittersweet finish.

I bought this only because it was on sale at Harley's for $3.99 per six-pack. That's not a typo: $3.99 for a sixer.
I tasted it with some trepidation. I don't think I'd have tried a Grapefruit IPA absent the extraordinary price incentive.....
And lo and behold, it's pretty darned good! Before I tasted it, I was asking myself if I should grade it on a curb due to the price.....but as it turns out there's no need.
Pours a cloudy apple juice color with a 2 inch head that retains a bit and leaves nice lacing. The grapefruit is only barely present in the smell...and just a bit more so in the taste - mostly on the finish. The grapefruit cuts the hoppiness just right for my palate. You can still tell it's an IPA, and it doesn't taste like grapefruit juice. I'd say they did a nice job.
Must be tanking in the market though, for them to be selling it for $3.99. Too bad. I've had worse.

Poured from a 12 oz can from a variety pack. Light yellow color with thin foam head. While hoppily bitter very thin on feel / taste. No malt backbone nor much grapefruit taste. Meh.

Looks ok. Ya know I was reading some of the other reviews and people were saying too bitter, no malt etc. It's not too bitter but it it's pretty light flavored. It's got the flavor of a juiced IPA and the nose but they both seem watered down and very light. Very crisp quickly gone finish. Ok but like a macro-IPA if that makes sense.

I had high expectations from Magic Hat: I thought this would be a "juicy," beer but despite the most distinct grapefruit flavor of any beer I've tasted, this beer only has a moderate haze and doesn't linger on the palate long after a sip. The ale is lightly carbonated, there's minimal suds and virtually no lacing. Despite the grapefruit, floral and piney notes come through clearly and a hint of mango. Overall, this beer is too harsh and not at all fulfilling.

This beer should have been right in my wheel house. Pours a nice straw colored gold with a slight haze. Smell is faint cracker and one dimensional citrus hop. Taste is immediately bitter without the supporting malt and hop flavor. Very harsh without the reward. Not a well made IPA from my perspective, so many better options on the market,
