The beer pours a hazy pale gold color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a dry, yet sweet wheat malt and yeast scent. It has a banana/clove aroma as well as a slight lemon zest. The taste is good as well. It is an extremely smooth beer with a nice banana/clove flavor and a slightly dry, lemony finish. It goes down easy with awesome mouthfeel. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a good hefe. I've had better, but this one drinks well.

Appearance: Pours a surprisingly clear pale golden color with a very modest head that quickly disappears and leaves no lacing

Smell: Vague banana aroma, but relatively neutral

Taste: Starts with a banana bread flavor but doesn't deliver after the punch; an aromatic flavor arrives that tastes a bit like the perfume of rotting citrus

Mouthfeel: Far too light bodied but with plenty of carbonation

Drinkability: Not terrible, but not particularly interesting; admittedly, I have an old bottle

Good wheat aroma. Cloudy with good head. Fresh at the brewery. Biting carbonation. Banana, clove and acid at the mouth. Some sourness. Another good hefeweizen, lemony spicey, needing a bit more full mouth and less spice. shy of a great one. Another great label though.

Pours a clear yellow very transparent. The head is minuscule, barely existent and disappears quickly.
Smell is grassy and hint of citrus.
The taste is light of bananas and even bubble gum flavors.
Mouthfeel is good with a crispness of carbonation.
Drinkability is lower because I really wasn’t all that impressed with this brew from Magic Hat.

I had low expectations for this beer because the only reason I got it was because a friend who couldnt bring himself to finish his 6 pack of it. And let me say that I was not disappointed at all. This beer pours like Bud lite or some equally atrocious swill. It has a thin soapy head that quickly dissipates into nothing (at all, no lace or crown). The bubbles that stick to the side of the glass look (again) like they came straight out of a high volume corporate factory. The smell is not as offensive to the nose as the sight was, but I would be lying if I said it was anything but run-of-the-mill hefe. Slightly wheaty, with a bit of a banana kick and some yeast, nothing else to be had. The taste is basically the smell watered down with gallons of pond water, and with a nice chemical bite on the back tongue at the beginning. The mouthfeel is simply awful. Again the only thing worth comparing this to is some god awful bud lite-esque macro. All I can really say is that, its better than Bud, but... well not really

I really wasn’t in the mood to deal with the other beers that came with the variety 12-pack that this beer came in (don’t care too much for Hocus Pocus or Fat Angel, though #9 Ale isn’t bad), but man am I a sucker for a mystery beer.

The color pours a slightly cloudy golden hay color. A foamy white head forms and then quickly dissipates. The color might have been more cloudy, but I left most of the sediment at the bottom of the bottle. The aroma is very citrusy, and a bit grassy. The taste is that of a fairly straight-foward hefe. Some citrus spice, a light clove flavor with some banana and a bit of bubblegum. But those flavors aren't very strong and the grainy malt flavor comes through more.

Not amazing, but not bad either. Recommended

Batch 370 is a hefeweizen that pours a clear straw yellow in the glass with a fizzy white head on top. The foam dissolves quickly leaving a thick ring around the surface of the beer. An aroma of clove, banana and bread greets you before each sip.

This medium bodied beer has a nice firm fizz on the palate. The flavor is mostly clove and banana with some bubblegum and bread in the background. It finishes dry with a sour grape like taste. Reminded me of a white wine.

I thought Batch 370 was an easy drinking hefeweizen that is similar to the Sam Adams hefe. A decent beer, but it doesn't come close to the imported German hefes.

The beer poured into the glass very slightly hazy pale golden with a white and frothy head which rose medium and fell slowly to lace the glass.

The aroma was light banana and a nice clove coupled with a light wheat aromatic. As the head finally drifted away a slightly medicinal phenolic developed and a light sovent aroma emerged.

The flavor was light, low and downright boring. The flavor contained a light fruit, banana, at a low level. Some wheat flavor was present and a light clove.

The finish was dry with a lasting light banana and low clove well into the afteraste. The body was medium. A decent enough beer, but a bit boring.

12 ounce bottle. Best before end O notched on label.

Bottle is notched to be good until the end of October...
Appears a cloudy haze of gold with a small white cap that fades in about a minute. No lacing is left behind.
Smell is of funkiness with lemony citrus and clove in a yeasty breadiness.
Taste is also of a slight funk with lemon and clove but there seems to be a slight sourness about it as well.
Mouthfeel is yeasty, bready, slightly sweet & sour, and dry.
I liked this much better on draft.

Hazy, shiny yellow, minimal head, plenty of carbonation. Smell is grain husks and lemon rind. Taste is lagerish, wheat and corn mix, plenty of flavor, just not flavors I want. No spiciness, no bananas. Hops are mild at best. Mouthfeel is thin toward the end, but never full or the slightest bit creamy. Drinkability is ok...but you gotta like these flavors.

I left the 1/4" layer of sediment in the bottle. Poured a hazy golden orange color with a few specs of white floaties. Streams of briskly bubbles did little to help the white head hold for more then a few seconds. Soft, faint banana notes along with hints of citrus and a bit of strange vegetally macroness. Nice chewy banana and yeast flavors up front are joined by a refreshing lemon zest flavor midway through. Strong carbonation scrubs the flavors from your tongue and leaves a Busch like aftertaste. This is bordering on being a bad beer. It's like they somehow managed to combine the good flavors of hefe weizens with the undesirable qualities of Busch.

I purchased this in the Magic Hat summer sampler. I am no great fan of Hefe Weizen's. Just not my preference but I will drink them now and again. This was a fairly decent rendition of the style. This is by far not my favorite MH beer but I will still drink it again if offered.

Pours hazy sunshine yellow with a thick and creamy white head.

Aroma is banana and bubblegum along with cloves and other spices.

Taste is sweet biscuits with some frutiness and a fleeting dryness and some bubblegum notes.

Very drinkable beer though again I am not a hefe fan.

Pours gold with a thick head and a slurry of creamy yeast.
Bavarian nose with bannanas, clove and subdued citrus.
A bit tart with a hint of lemon zest and black pepper.
Thin to medium bodied and smooth on the pallet.
Light malt and big wheat served up Julius style.
Finishes quick on the pallet and from the bottle.
Very enjoyable a longside a ceasar salad with flatiron steak strips and roasted onion and pepper medley.
I'm a sucker for Bavarian Hef's and there is a definate void in New England for domestic versions.

Pours a hazy flat yellow with almost no carbonation and foam. Has an interesting and almost nuclear glow to it.

Aroma is of a cidery wild ale yeast of a Belgian influence.

Taste is of pale malt and yeast affects. Tart and fruity, but nothing unique or definitive.

This could be a more interesting beer if it included some more interesting malts. Some light biscuit might deepen the flavor without damaging the color.

Thanks to my neighbor Joel for the bottle!
Hazed gold, with a scant collar of head. Quite a bit of yeast remained clumped in the bottom of the bottle, despite my practically shaking the bottle before opening. Active, larger bubbled carbonation trails. Nice banana and clove "hefe" aroma, with a touch of wheaty sourness. A bit of pear and bubblegum in the mix. Chalky mouthfeel from the beginning, starting out with an airy wheat matl flavor, quickly moving into banana and pear esteriness. Strong phenols in the finish, creating an almost paint thinnner-ish feel in the swallow. Good finish, a sourish, wheaty tang mingling with clove phenols. Moderate carbonation, with a medium body.
Not bad at all. Definitely in the bavarian style, probably in the same class as the milder (blander) german versions, such as Julius Echter and Erdinger. I'd take this over most other american versions of a hefeweizen.

Like any reasonably good hefe, this was yellow and hazy. The head was huge - the bottle overflowed when I opened it. I have not been having luck with beers like this recently.

Aroma was of wheat malt, and it was doughy. A bit yeasty as well, also no surprise.

Taste was slightly fruity, but it was hard to characterize. Also wheaty and bready. Good, but kind of odd as well.

Mouthfeel was average.

Drinkability average too. Overall just an average brew.

I got lucky getting this one... someone had opened a mixed pack, and I looked through and found this. It caused a bit of consternation to the cashier, who didn't seem to understand what I was saying about it not being in their inventory. He tried scanning it three times before finally calling the head cashier. Finally they let me have it for $1.25, which wasn't bad. Next time I got to the store, though, the box was empty.

Bought these bottles in a Magic Hat summer 12 pack and tried
these first and shared them with some friends for their opinion.
All of us enjoyed this new Magic Hat offering, we all thought
they had a funky smell but for a summer beer I loved the flavorings
this lighter beer had to offer(well going up against the big sellers
floating around the lake that evening) We all agreed it was a
tastey brew and I'm sure with little fine tuning here and there
an a good marketing set up this would be a good seller for the
summer months. Seeing I love this style of beer when its hot
out and you need some relieve without getting to bloated drinking
heavier beers, I do recommend this if you can find it. I love
the German weiss beer and especially my favorite Hoegarrden Belgium so this new creation from magic hat #370 has the
flavorings down with some differences as usual with MH but it
would be wise to try and calm down the smell of this somehow?

Pretty clear straw color before the swirl and pour; tons of yeast leave a very cloudy apricot color with a decent creamy white head. Big yeasty banana/apricot aromas and flavor; a virtual slurry of yeast... Medium-full bodied and fluffy.

I found this to be like a traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen on steroids ! Unlike most others here, I liked it .. Big fruity flavors !

Growler from the brewery.

Poors as your basic hefe, with hazy yellow body and a thin white head. Smell is right for a hefe, very yeasty, with a bit of citrus and some grain notes. Taste is mostly wheat, but is more on the banana end of the fruit spectrum than the citrus end, this isn't quite dialed in to what either a classic hefe or one of the better American hefe's taste like. I find myself wanting a lemon, which is defintely not something I like to do to a hefe. Not bad, however. The mouthfeel is right, however, with just enough bite and astringency. It's drinkable, and pleasant, but definitely is more a "first stab at a hefe" sort of beer.
