Notes / Commercial Description:
A beer cloaked in secrecy. An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A sort of dry, crisp, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there's never been anything else quite like it.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass

A- pours a slightly hazy shade of light orange with a solid, one finger white head. Lots of carbonation. Nice.

S- artificial smelling apricot aroma and straw. Uh oh.

T- mildly sweet apricot flavor as well as a tad bit of bitterness. Not a lot going on here, but it's not abrasive and pretty easy drinking

M- thin body, bordering on the medium side of things

O- it's not great by any means, but it's not a bad beer. Nice gateway.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass.

A: Pours a clear amber orange with lots of carbonation rising up the glass. Giant four finger white head with long retention. Great lacing sticking to the glass throughout the session. Beautiful beer.

S: Ridiculously sweet aroma. Apricots dominate the nose. Subtle earthy hops but overrun by apricot sweetness. Smells like apricot preserves.

T: Sweet wheat and apricots. A little bit of bittering hops in the middle that attempt to balance out the sweetness, but the fruity sweetness wins out.

M: Medium bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Surprisingly creamy for the ABV and body.

O: Not my thing, but very easy to consume. I have alway heard people refer to this beer as a pale ale (which is why I probably never cared for it.) However, if I think about it as a fruit beer it is actually decent. Easily a session drink if you like fruity beers. Again, not my preference, yet not undrinkable.

An orange color with a small head. Smells sweet. A bit fruity on the nose. A tad sweet. I thought of peach when I was drinking it, but now that I see that it has apricot flavor, I can understand that. A nice bready malt flavor too. Refreshing. Somewhat light body and an above medium amount of carbonation.

It's about 95 degrees out and #9's refreshing flavor does the trick now. It's not a revolutionary beer, but it has its place.
