Notes / Commercial Description:
A beer cloaked in secrecy. An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A sort of dry, crisp, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there's never been anything else quite like it.

Bottle: very decent 355mL brown bottle, funky label. Me likey!

Appearance: golden in colour with a small white head, average retention.

Aroma: aroma is apricots, peaches and coconut.

Taste: very interesting! The coconut, peaches, mango and apricots certainly follow in the taste.

Aftertaste: the sweetness gets a little bit much, but it is well constructed.

Mouth feel: mouth feel really backs up the flavours. Carbonation is medium without being over-powering, body is also moderate.

Overall: if you are after a really interesting fruit-based beer, this one is good for the price. I wouldn't have it all the time, and I certainly wouldn't have more than one or two in a sitting, but it is a good, interesting beer.

It was a beautiful opaque gold and had a decent white head. Smell was lightly fruity and not like yeast or bread. Taste was like a crisp lager with a hefeweisse. For me, best of both worlds...not too fruity, but. Very pleasing. I am not a pale ale fan so I was surprised how much I enjoyed this beer. It was great after being out in the heat, but is more complex than many summer seasonals.

Magic! In a nonic pint.

Appearance- #9 is hazy and a little more gold than amber, although those highlights are making a case. A few columns of bubbles languidly drifting to the half-finger of cakey, orange-tinted foam. A smattering of soapy stuff sticks to the side of the glass.

Smell- There is something almost musty about this beer... Maybe it is a little fruity? That is reminding me of peach or apricot. Wheat bread is in here too.

Taste- Sweet is the predominant characteristic at the front of the tongue, but by the end bread is more apparent. The fruits have a bit of apricot and navel orange about it. I really wish that stuck around into the finish, instead of leaving behind wheat bread on the tongue.

Mouth feel- It starts creamy but is a little more snappy once it goes down the gullet. A little weird, like the bubbles need a second to catch up. Above average feel, but not great.

Overall- A touch of fruit can be more entertaining than something all out like a lambic. However, I am not sure that works entirely well here. The hop and malt bill are VERY muted. I feel like they should do more of the heavy lifting to compliment the kiss of fruit flavor.
