12oz bottle

A-Pours a brownish copper color with an off-white head that reduces into a thin ring of lace around the glass.

S- The aroma is sweet toasted malts, a touch of dark fruits and caramel.

T- The taste like the aroma is a nice malty octoberfest base. There is some toasted malts and caramel with just a hint of hops in the finish.

M- The mouhfeel is medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

D- Overall, this is a pretty solid octoberfest beer. Not something that will knock your socks off, but a pretty good beer for the style. Worth a try.

A - Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, tan head of foam. It left little to no lacing.

S - It smelled of caramel and floral notes. Not a lot going on here.

T - It tasted malty and sweet with some caramel and toffee notes. A mild bitter hop bite adds balance.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied ale with a dry finish.

O - This is an okay ale. Nothing impressive but a nice sessionable brew.

A - Nice deep copper/amber with two fingers of tan head. head has pretty good retention and leaves some nice lacing.

S - Sweet malts, a bit of caramel and a small amount of spice in the nose.

T - Taste has a bit of a bite, both from some spice and relatively high carbonation. Sweet caramel malts come through midway through the taste. Finish is actually rather bitter.

M - Medium mouthfeel that is by turns a bit sticky sweet, and quite dry and bitter. Finishes dry.

O - Pretty good taste, and one of the better Magic Hat beers I've had, but still well below a number of other Oktoberfests. The bitter element is not particularly welcome.

A - Pours a clear light golden honey color. Very little head, but what is there is off white.

S - light sweet malt aroma, maybe a little apple, or pear. Ever so slight floral aroma.

T - Like the smell, I got lots of light malt flavors, with hints of apple, flowers, maybe a little caramel on the back end. Very little hop character.

M - Medium, slight hop bitterness.

O - A nice mild American amber.

"Beer reviewed from notes"

A-Poured into a pint glass from the tap. Pours a light amber with flecks of red. decent amount of speckled lace head is Bone white.

S-I am not sure whats up with the scent of this beer. It smelled very musty. Not sure why but the scent of something close to wet towels killed all other scents in this beer. Almost to the point of me questioning drinking it.

T-Taste is awesome. Lots of malty sweetness with a very mild amount of bitterness at the end. Good complexity with nothing clashing terribly.

M- Mouthfeel was also dead on for the style.

D-This was a decent beer if you can get past the scent. Not sure why that happened but it was a first for me. I wont be getting this one again.

Every once in a while, Magic Hat surprises me with a tasty brew. I happen to think that #9 is a tasty session beer...but I know plenty who disagree. I'm ready to cheer!:

A: Dark, ruby red, with moderate carbonation and about 1/8 inch head.

S: Not much on the aroma for an amber. I've got to admit...I smell plastic.

T: Mildly medicinal, without much floral component, and it has a stale caramel aftertaste.

M: It's not bad in terms of mouthfeel, but because the taste leaves more to be desired, that's not saying much.

D: This will be my last tryst with "Hex."

A- A clear orange liquid with some amber hues. The head is thin and splotchy.

S- Apples, brown sugar, vanilla and a touch of smoke.

T- Smoke, sweet caramel, vanilla, and apples. Very unique and enjoyable. This oddly reminds me of a light quad.

M- A light amount of carbonation with some lasting sweetness.

D- Very flavorful and drinkable. Much better than I expected. All of the flavors compliment each other nicely.
