I poured this beer into a perfect pint glass, it has a nice 2"white creamy head on top of a nice orange body. The smell is of citrus hops and a little grapefruit comes though. The taste is very well made, nice balance of malt to hops, would like more hops. The hops give off a nice citrus flavor on the back of the tongue.. The mouth feel is very nice and smooth. Overall a great beer.

Picked up a 6 pack at the local C-store. Hadn't seen this beer around my area lately but I have liked a lot of the other Magic Hats and since IPAs are my favorite I said what the hell.

A- poured into a beer glass a dark "honey" color. Nice two finger head with some decent lacing. Lacing stayed around at the top almost the entire time I drank the beer.

S- a light cedar smell with a hint of citrus. Smells like if you just put down some new hardwood floors and lacquered them with orange and lemon zest.

T- not an overly strong IPA but does have some bold flavor. With so many different palates from beer drinkers it is hard to really critique in this category.

M- really smooth and drinkable. Goes down smooth with a nice bite at the end characteristic of an IPA. The only negative i have here is that it is very thin.

D- has a nice bite but is very tasty. I really enjoy IPAs so the bite is what I live for!

Really nice beer overall. Nice to see Magic Hat creating good IPAs. Haven't really been disappointed by anything they have been doing lately.

poured into an american shker pint glass. Nice rocky white head and excellant lacing.Nice ipa like golden orange color, though I noticed some wispy looking sedament type strings in the glass, wierd! Is this a hybrid ipa?
Nice big hop aromas prevail here, piney and resonous with some tropical fruit.
Defintely a hop forward profile here as well but with a good malt backbone.Pine resonous in your face with a good malty compliment that finishes nice and bitter but yet citrusy.
Slick oily hoppiness on the feel.
I enjoyed this magic hat brew...but what the heck was up with those odd stringers of sedimentary like wisps?

Magic Hat Encore
12 oz brown bottle
Best by February 29, 2012
Served in a 20 oz tulip glass

Pours a hazy orange color with a very frothy and fluffy white head on top. Nice trails of sticky lacings decorate the glassware.

The nose if floral and quite hoppy with some citrus.

There are some toasted biscuit flavors with a hint of caramel sweetness. The real flavors in this IPA are the citrus notes of orange and lemon. I notice some low carbonation levels, which make this beer very smooth.

I like how this beer is not overly aggressive hop bomb, yet it still provides a really enjoyable amount of hops.

Cloudy amber color with a nice lace ring. Aromas of pine and grapefruit. Has a nice full, creamy body that fills your mouth. Aftertaste of citrus, namely lemon peel, on the finish. This ranks up there with some of my favorite American IPAs. I recommend it.
