Served on tap in a sample glass.

Appearance: Darker reddish brown with a beige head. Thick lacing on the glass.

Smell: Nutty with hops and malts.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth medium bodied. Nutty malty taste to it.

Overall: Ok brew, not my first choice, but I am also not a huge fan of Red Ales.

Poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Dark color with a slight touch of dark red, yet still see-through. Small off-white head. Similar to Guinness but not as black.

Smell: Malty

Taste: Dark malty flavor with a hint of caramel.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, easy to drink.

Overall: A similar beer to Guinness, but on a lower level. After a while, the taste catches on and it is enjoyable. I would buy again.

Bottle, poured in a pint glass.

A: Decent amber color w/ hit a red. Relatively translucent. Very small head. Minimal lacing.

S: Malty, caramel

T: Sweet, hint of chocolate/caramel

M: Nice hint of carbonation, not too overpowering, smooth.

O: Good red/amber ale. Great Fall beer.

Bottle > Pint Glass

A - Pours a clear brown, 1 finger of sudsy white head, no lacing.
S - Aroma is full of burnt grains, some faint spice and pepper, a little fig.
T - Taste picks up a little, but not a whole lot, some sweet fig, a little orange up front, then some burnt caramel malt, then fades to a smokey acrid burnt taste at the end. Finishes dry and floury.
M - Medium on feel, the aftertaste is a bit too bitter.
O - Somewhat complex, but not in any gratifying way. The burnt taste and aroma is a bit too much in this.
