12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass, pours a hazy golden orange with two fingers of bright white head, pretty nice retention, very good thick lacing. Nose has a light but nice hop note, primarily grassy with some slight lemony and pine notes. Taste starts off with the same gentle hoppiness, nicely citric, over a smooth slightly buttery malt which gives way to a subdued piney lingering hop bitterness. Medium bodied with a fairly high carbonation. Overall, this is a pretty solid IPA, but nothing really special, probably won't seek out this beer again.

A: Pours frothy and golden. The head is substantial and unleashes the beauteous floral aroma of the hops.

S: The nose is simple: Hops mixed with a pleasant dewy sweetness and breadiness.

T: The hops and malt are well balanced, I think, with no one overpowering the other. It's much less hoppy than a few of its American brethren, and does not assault the tongue with vicious "hop daggers" as I call them. Don't get me wrong, it's got mad props to its hops, yet balances the upfront floral notes with rich, subtle undertones of malty breadiness.

M: I love the tanginess mixed with some banging carbonation. The crispness is refreshing and the weight of it is satisfying.

D: I could and did drink quite a few of these while conducting this, my oh so inspiring, tasting. I used to think of IPAs as things so bitter they could only be enjoyed with food. This one proves satisfying alone or with food (especially something spicy).

A - Poured a clear, dark golden color with a little bit of head on top that fades fairly quickly, leaving behind some lacing.

S - Sweet and floral hops dominate the aroma. There is also some fruity/citrus tones that really blend with the hops well.

T - Starts off a little light and immediately the hops and bitterness build. The hops become very strong and are joined by a little bit of citrus flavors and some malt flavor balance out the hops and smooth it out. The aftertaste is full of hops and a touch bitter.

M - Medium to medium-light bodied, just enough carbonation, and fairly smooth. Really takes over the palate.

D - The nice hops flavor is nice, but it could use a touch of malt balance overall. However, the mix of the hops and the citrus flavors and some other sweet elements make for a nice taste.

Weird name from a weird brewery. But as long as it tastes good I could care less. Poured out a golden amber color with a nice amount of carbonation. Smell consisted of hops, pine, citrus notes and a little bit of a buttery aroma. Taste was hoppy, but not that much. You can tell they have lots of variety of hops in this brew, but it wasn't over the top which I was expecting. It finished a little piney and herbal, but yet smooth and creamy which was nice. This beer will satisfy hop heads and non-hop heads alike. Nicely done.

12 oz bottle poured in a pint glass...

A - clear light orange/yellow with a sticky white head, leaving plenty of lacing.

S - pine tar aroma, sweet smell of Spring.

T - good hoppy taste, sour candy sweetness, abv well hidden.

M - light/medium bodied, light carbonation, nice finish.

D - has very good drinkability, price is reasonable. Good value and good example of the style.

Poured a hazy amber with a modest head that quickly reduced down to a collar The aroma was sweet citrus. The taste was citrus too, but with a malty background. The feed was medium bodied with enough carbonation to keep the tongue happy. Drinkability was good. HI.P.A reminds me a lot of Clipper City's Loose Cannon. I'm going to have to do a side by side with those two first chance I get.

"Of Jordan we'll miss, his Hightops were Miss Bliss" says the cap

Pours clear dark gold with a fluffy white head. The smell is fresh hops with citrusy aromatics. The flavor is nicely malty with a load of citrus hop flavor, which comes across very sharp compared to others I've had. The sharp tang of the hops is a little out of balance for this one but still good tasting and thirst quenching.

Had this on tap at Croxley Ales in Long Island. Pours a yellow orangey color with a nice head on it.

The nose is great on this. The aroma of hops you really know you have an IPA in front of you. Mostly citrousy notes not too bitter.

The taste is overall pretty hoppy, not as much as the nose would suggest. After a few sips I almost feel like this has a good amount of wheat in it or mixed with one of their wheat beers.

This has a slight creaminess to it and goes down pretty smooth. I could certainly have a few of these in a sitting.

12oz bottle poured into a standard pint glass. Pours a light amber, slightly cloudy, nice white head and decent lacing. The hop aroma is subtle and sweet; slightly malty. The hops come to life in the taste, bold, but not over the top bitterness. Lots of citrus mixed in with some peaches and apricots. Not piney or resiny. Mouthfeel is nice, but slightly thin; medium-bodied. Drinkability is nice, good flavors, alcohol is unnoticeable. Very crisp and refreshing beer, good for the spring and summer.

I can't say I've ever been a Magic Hat fan, usually their beers are underwhelming. This one is actually enjoyable. This might not be a top-notch IPA, but pretty enjoyable.

When you want to drink a good beer and not think too much about it, this one will do the job. Poured a charming slightly smoggy burnished gold colour and managed a decent creamy white cap of froth that had decent staying power and good clinging abilities.

Aroma is all about hops. A slap-in-the-face blast of resiny hops (columbus, I read it on their website) assaults you up front and finally allows some hints of pepper and malty sweetness to manifest themselves. As the beer warms up it manages some light notes of orchard fruits and mixes them with hints of raw grain.

This beer comes off as medium to light bodied (I suspect it was well attenuated) with a very mineral and drying texture. Resiny hops dominated the flavour profile and only let through a few hints of pepper and grains as the brew moved towards room temp. The finish was pleasantly long and firm on themes of bitterness and dryness.

A good session ale for hopheads, refreshing, up front and clean. I would have preferred more malt to balance the brew and lend it some complexity. I nonetheless enjoyed the beer

"Stop looking...and you'll find it"

Pours a clear gold color with a large fluffy, sticky head that leaves loads of lacing. Resinous hop aroma...fresh, juicy, and a little fruity. Big, bold hop flavor - some floral and pine. There's some sweetness and a little fruit in there too along with a solid bitterness. This is one damn hoppy beer.

An IPA especially for the hopheads. If hoppy is what you're in the mood for, this should suit you just fine. Almost pungent hops.

Poured from 12oz brown bottle into a clear pint glass. Freshness date clearly marked.

A: Barely hazy orange-gold color with great looking foamy 2-finger off-white head with above-average retention and lacing.

S: The dominant aroma is a raw, leafy, tobacco-like hops aroma with is as earthy as they come. There is a pretty solid pale malt backing as well.

T: The taste follows right from the taste as there is a strong leafy, hay flavor that combines earthy and spicy hops quality from the Tomahawk hops.

M: Here is where this beer falters some with an uneasy feel which is not coating and too acidic. The aftertaste is hoppy and pleasant enough, but the carbonation is a bit too heavy here.

D: The feel hurts it a lot in this category, as does its hops rawness, which is enjoyable, but really only for one beer.

pours out a darker shade of golden, nice spongy head lots of retention and lacing..smells strong of earthy hops and citrus. Very bright and pungent.

Taste offers more floral notes than the nose, has good balance of malt but very crisp hops are the dominant taste here.

mouthfeel has a little spicyness to it yet entirely clean, crisp and refreshing.

drinks very easy at 6.7%..

i tried this a long time ago as their spring session now it is included on their ipa tour as the end of the year ipa...really like what magic hat is doing with that after not being impressed for so long
