Magic Eye is a New England style IPA brewed with Mosaic and Mandarina hops from Hop Head Farms. Pale orange in color and opaque, Magic Eye has aromas of bright orange, passion fruit, and mango. At first sip, big tropical citrus flavors dominate the palate followed by just a touch of bitterness in the finish. This medium-bodied IPA is fruit forward and very refreshing.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into a custom Sam Adams Perfect Pint; bottled 09/29/19.
A: Pour a hazy, dark golden color with a two finger, off-white head, nearly a finger of fluffy retention, and rings of sticky, foamy lacing.
S: Aromas of pineapple, nectarine, and lemon, with both caramel and pine notes, but white grapefruit all the way on the back end.
T: Semidry and very tart. Flavor is outsized white grapefruit, with tads of caramel, white pepper, and pine. Bitterness certainly present, but adds to the sense of dryness and unusually balanced for this style.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Was worried because this bottle is nearly 6 months old, be color me impressed. I do like the juicy, fruity, and sweet NEIPA, but Short's is definitely on to something with this one. The dryness reminds me a touch of a Berliner Weisse.

Alrighty continuing the Shorts charade. Another mix a sixer brew from Kroger for a total of $9.99. A Shorts NEIPA? We shall see how good it turns out.
Look - Hazy orange with a finger of frothy head. Settles slowly. Carbonation appears to be moderate. Stick is pretty good and a touch spider web like.
Smell - Orange juice forward though it's rather mild. Some floral hop really owns it. Orange as it warms but not stale orange juice in manor. More orange starburst I suppose.
Taste - Lotsa orange and pineapple. I mean high levels of 'em both and melded pretty well. With that said it lacks a malt backbone. But it's still pretty damn tasty at that.
Feel - Bitter and juicy with a moderate body that swallows bitter and moderately carbonated. Flavors retain much the same.
Overall - What else but another solid beer. Juicy and flavorful but lacking a backbone that would truly make it awesome. The taste is quite nice. The feel is a touch short of the taste. Seeing as I got it for less than cost in a mixer I can't complain at all. Try it.

I got two bottles of this beer from a mixed 12pck that I bought from my local meijer store. It poured a hazy yellow with thin white head that is not leaving much lace. The taste had faint tart citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with juicy fruit like flare. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/8/2019. Pours very hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is an excellent NEIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Great soft feel, and not aggressive. Great Mosaic and Mandarina Bavaria profile. Very vibrant, juicy, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive style example. No complaints.
