Since having Half Acre's version of this collab via a growler that Kegatron shared with me, I've been wanting to try shorts take on it. Thanks to cmurren25 for making that happen by giving me a bottle.

Poured into a sniffer, this brew appears an orange copper color with a creamy cap of white froth that is stained with a hint of yellow coloration. The slow receding of the head produces a webbing of lacework on the glass. A swirl revives the creamy froth of yellowish head back to nearly a finger's strength.

The aroma is tangy with fruit. By now having been exposed to guava on more than one occasion I can without hesitation proclaim that I smell the guava's contribution to this brew's aroma. It smells fruity with a very earthy/grassy character that is also lightly peppery. A mellow sweetness is pleasant and the hops are present but a bit faded at this point.

The taste is herbal with a spiced aspect that mellows out with more sips. The alcohol also contributes a spicy accent. There is quite a modest bitterness that is clingy and oily on the tongue. A bit of a mango fruity flavor is present before turning grassy and herbal with the bitterness. It leaves a flavor of grapefruit rind inside the mouth that is citrusy and resinous.

This is a medium bodied brew with modest carbonation. Easy drinking but quite herbal and clingy with a lasting effect. The alcohol is evident in both flavor and warming factor but it's not distracting, it plays a good role in melding the transition of fruity sweetness to herbal bitterness. Not bad, my only complaint is not getting to have both brewery's offerings on the same playing field of freshness.

Bottle poured into a pint glass. This is a golden copper color with a decent half inch of head. Smell is a nice mix of citrus-hops and guava, making for an interesting balance. Taste is crisp mix of hops and guava, well balanced between the bitterness of the hops and sweetness of the guava. This is like a tropical take on an IPA, something you can imagine sipping outside in the summer. Excellent drinkability.
