Sampled from a 12oz bottle in a tulip pint glass. Thanks surge1311!

A - Golden and extremely clear with a small white head that dissipates quickly. A slow but steady rise of small bubbles.

S - Guava, huge at first but then more subtle, with hints of tangerine and pineapple.

T - Follows the smell with guava and tropical fruits. Crisp with a mild bitterness. It's an odd combination but it gets you. I found myself wavering between "that's just too much" and "wow, I like that".

M - Thin with a mild carbonation.

O - An interesting combination of flavors. Not an everyday beer but well worth a try.

Huge thanks to browna71 (Alex) for a sixer of this fine brew in a recent trade! 12oz bottle poured into a chalice.

Pours a faintly hazy dark copper/orange with a thin half-finger width white head on top. Some spotty lace clings to the glass. The nose is bursting with scents of fresh-squeezed oranges, pineapple, guava. Slightly peppery, with a faint alcohol singe on the back end.

Good full-bodied IPA with plenty of carbonation zip. There's plenty of bitter hops to go around with this beer, but my overall impression is pepper and spices. I expected more of a fruity-tasting IPA, but this one is herbal, earthy, and spicy. Part of this reminds me of Saison Du BUFF (any version) with the herbal notes, but it is definitively an IPA. Some citrus sweetness rounds it out, and there's a crisp bitter finish. As far as drinkability is concerned, the spiciness may wear on me after awhile, but it is a pleasure to sip one. A good bitter beer that will cure my hop-fix any day.

Bought from Spartan Spirits a long time ago.

Had this rating on my comp for some time forgot to post it.

A&S: Very strong sweet smelling (smells like guava), which balances nicely with a citrus hoppyness. Cloudy orange colored beer, with unfiltered elements. Thin fizzy white head that fizzles out quickly.

T&M: Very sweet (guava) upfront, fades to sour midway through. The classic IPA bitterness comes through late. Medium bodied that feels pretty coarse, low to medium amounts of carbonation.

O: Highly drinkable, but I feel like I got sick of it midway though the bottle. I thought this was a nice take on the IPA.

Reviewed from notes.

Pours a clear golden color with a good white head and some nice rings of lacing on the way down. The nose powers through with a strong scent of guava along with some tropical fruits. A bit of mango and general fruity sweetness. Very interesting. The flavor doesn’t work quite as well, as the guava comes out of balance with the hops, though there’s still some citrus and mango in the background. The guava adds a bit of acidity, which is actually quite pleasing. Dry and bitter in the feel. A very solid effort.

Appearance: a deep orange with decent clarity. small white head that leaves a little bit of a lacing

Smell: very fruity, citrus and tropical fruits, noticeable guava nectar. the hoppiness is noticeable too

Taste: again very fruit, citrusy hops with notes of tropical fruits and guava nectar. not quite as balanced as i would like. a little touch of sourness in a slightly off way

Mouthfeel: a strong bitterness that i did not quite expect, pretty sticky, not as refreshing as id hope for

Overall: definitely an interesting and tasty take on an ipa but just not quite as good as i'd hope for form shorts and undershot my expectations.

Thanks to ErikKoppin for this one

App- A standard IPA color with a ton of bubbles and floaties in the bottom. A small white 1/2" head with zero cling. Pretty normal looking really.

Smell- A bit of a candy sugar aroma with a pungent fruit aroma. Had a lot of bitter pine and resin behind the nose. Has that undeniable Shorts yeast aroma.

Taste- Now thats's guava. I appreciate the fact they say its an IPA with Guava. Very fruit forward with like the nose a good blend of piney resin. Still has like the nose as well that Shorts specific flavor. It's to me a very unique IPA. You get many flavors behind it but none quite dominate. The guava is a bit sweet with the hops being a bit bitter.

Mouth- A medium body with a lot of Guava and resin on the residual flavor with a semi flat and low bubble carbonation.

Drink- Undeniably shorts. Tasty, semi balanced and sweet. Couldve been a touch better but I enjoyed it. Would like to see it a bit more thin.

Poured 12oz bottle into snifter. A clear golden orange color with a 2 finger white head. Aroma is of musty tropical fruit with a heavy does of pink guava. Some sweeter candied malts and honey mingle. Flavor is highlighted with the guava, along with some pineapple and grapefruit. It is not as sweet as the aroma would indicate, but the malts help balance the hops and fruit well. Well carbonated and light feel with a clean refreshing finish. Enjoyable, but not something I would want to drink over and over.

Hazy orange, lasting head and a chunky halo of lacing rings the glass.

Aroma is a little muted, grains and light florals. Vaguely tropical guava and clover honey.
Taste has a slight fruity tartness, and something of an edge to it. Guava flavor is present and distinct.
Medium bodied with a lingering earthy tart bitterness. Overall it's pretty good, though a little overly malty for me.

Overall an interesting beer for sure. The guava is strong and give it a fruity and tropical taste, masking the hips a bit. Not my favorite but interesting.
