Bottle courtesy of Stephen. Thank you for the opportunity. 12 oz bottle with no evident dating.

Pours a near bubble free and quite tepid cloudy apple juice.

Smells borderline disgusting: sickly sweet, cooked cabbage, green raisins in a big way, and the smell that lingering along your bedroom sheets after a few days of sweaty wrestling against the flu. Scratch borderline, this smell like sickness.

Green raisins, apple juice, big cutting bitter finish and some pestery fruitiness that I attribute to the yeast, though who knows...this could be the funky hop profile.

Carbonation is still. This is a dud. Davey Jones Locker for this little guy.

A- Pours a clear golden orange with a thick and creamy white head that has excellent retention.

S- White bread, white grape juice, golden raisins, some tropical fruit, and a bit of earthiness. A little odd to say the least.

T- Very earthy and bitter with an odd astringency. Not appealing at all.

M- The lasting astringency is brutal.

O- Sounded appealing. Just not very tasty to say the least. The label is also creepy as an added bonus.

Transparent amber color with a slight sticky head. You can see right through it. I can't remember the last time I had a beer like that. Really dank, weedy, earthy hops with undertones of citrus on the nose. Upon tasting, the maltiness comes first. Not really getting any golden raisins, and I'm not sure what their role is in this. Bitterness is evident. Also dryness. At 9%, alcohol is noticeable. Mouthfeel has a medium body and lightly carbonated. Overall, disappointed and not really getting how this all goes together. In other words, I'm glad I just bought the single.

Reviewed from notes.

Pours a moderate copper color with a thin off-white head and not much lacing. The nose brings forward a strong raisin component along with some earthy, dank hops. Strong presence diacetyl there as well, unfortunately. The flavor falls down hard. Fairly-strong alcohol burn along with quite a bit of butter. Raisin is the only real flavor, with just a touch of hops in the background. Feel is butter cream with a lot of booze. Very out there and not something I enjoyed.

Appearance: copper-brown pour, small head, little lacing
Smell: raisins and weird hops, as well as some off notes
Taste: possibly infected, very boozy with only a touch of raisins.
Mouthfeel: very boozy
Overall: Not enjoyable, these things are hit or miss.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Half Acre tulip.

A- Pours a dark copper with a 1 finger light tan head. Small blotches and bubbles on the glass.

S- Citrus, pine and grape juice.

T- Sweet caramel malts, citrus and pine bitterness, plum and grape juice.

M- Medium body and carbonation. Slight dry with a astringent after taste that lingers.

O- Raisins in a IPA doesn't sound good and it isn't. Take the raisins out and this is probably a good dipa.

A- Caramel color ~ Light head that is staying well

T-Very Earthy and Hoppy Cant make out the raisesn, butthere is deffinitely something in there that is not in other double IPA's. very dry

M- Nice mouthfeel for a heavy beer.

O- Just an average double IPA with an earth taste from the raisins. Very odd label also.

Thanks to Dr. K for the bottle. Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass. Served slightly chilled.

A) Deep amber with 2 fingers of off white head. This had good retention and decent lacing too. This was a pretty attractive beer.

S) Pine, light tropical fruit, and a sweet boozy aroma. Not bad...

T) I'm not sure about the golden raisin here. There is a different sweetness to this, which I assume is the raisin. This has a light tropical fruit mix in the flavor, and then punches you with booze, and a very unpleasant finish, and aftertaste. The nose had some pine, but the hops just wasn't as evident in the taste. This just does not come together from a taste standpoint for me personally.

M) Medium body, maybe heavier. Moderate amount of carbonation. This has an uncomfortable sting, along with a poor aftertaste, that stays around like an unwelcome guest.

O) This was not the beer for me. While not quite drain poor territory, it was dangerously close. Sorry, but I would not recommend.
