Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is a Belgian-style Double IPA brewed with Australian Galaxy hops. The nose is an impressive dank blend of citrus aromas reminiscent of guava and lemons, very green and fresh with subtle Belgian yeast esters. An intense clean bitterness dominates the flavor profile with little malt character to compete with. A slight, fruity yeast sweetness is noticeable in the finish alongside a resounding bitterness.

I got a couple of cans of this beer from a mixed 18pck from my local meijer store. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is leaving a nice lace. The scent had dank pine resin and Belgian malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright Belgian malt base with bitter pine resin presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Deep gold and clear with thick white head of foam. Smells dank, catty, rotten oranges, pine, a bit of bread, and Belgian yeast. Tastes aggressively of citrus rind, pepper, and pine with some bready malt underneath. Medium body, medium carbonation, citrus rind scraping across my tongue. It's a bit extreme but the style allows for that. Definitely a conversation beer with like-minded friends.

Decanted from an 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into a Captain Lawrence, Muffin Top pint glass; bottled 05/12/19.
A: Pours a hazy amber color with a one to two finger, foamy, orange chiffon head, rim+ retention, and decent lacing.
S: Tangy bouquet with a hint of lactic acid. A melange of aromas of caramel, honey, cherry, Red Delicious apple, and orange citrus.
T: Nicely tart and sweet. Flavors of caramel, honey and Graham Cracker up front and a bit more orange citrusy on the back. Bitterness strongly present, yet acts as a nice counterpoint to the sweetness.
M: Medium to near full-bodied with solid effervescence.
O: A very nice Belgian IPA, very consistent with the style. Really impressed by Short's recipe.

As a big Belgian beer drinker, I had to try this strange meddling of Belgian yeast (American) and IPA hops. I could barely get through half this swill. This style I guess is not for me. It's very piney and does not balance well at all with the supposedly Belgian yeast. Some Belgian beers are hoppy and very tasty but I've yet to try a Belgian IPA that I liked.

Very interesting beer - my first venture into this beer style. Slightly hazy orange color with mild head and some very spotty lingering lacing. Smells of citrus zest and piney hops but in the foreground there's that Belgian yeast aroma. Tastes similarly, as well as a nice malt backbone. Smooth thin mouthfeel with good carbonation. The higher ABV is well-hidden. I liked this beer because some of the overly-sweet traditional Belgian yeast flavors and aromas were well-balanced by the hoppy bite of the IPA part of this brew.
