330 ml bottle. Appearance is a golden amber tone with a decently thick head of off-white froth. Froth has moderate retention, and leaves rich lacing on the glass. Aromas are malty - the base wheat malt, dough, bready flavours all mixed in prominently. Taste follows the traditional Weizen mold, again bread, cereal, dough, with a touch of light sweetness.Mouth feel is average, nice average level of carbonation suits it to a T making it feel creamy in the mouth without being overwhelmingly buzzy,

This was a rather run-of-the-mill, boring hefe, something I did not expect from Yokohama. This brewery does their American brews much better than this German attempt. Not much in the look, the nose, or the taste on this one. I've had hefes in cans that fared better. I would pass on this and go for Yokohama's lager and other American brews.

pours out a nice pineapple, golden light brown. great color but rather weak head, unimpressive for the style. Appearance is pretty average hefe.

it's been a while since i've had a really good weizen. recently i had was the erdinger octoberfest. got it fresh, on tap in the proper glassware, it looked gorgeous but didn't have a lot of smell or flavor. thought it was ok but not great. back to the yokohama offering in front of me. wow, this one has a big, bold, fruity and spicy smell that, while it is pretty standard for the style, it's exactly what i want from a hefeweizen.

taste does not disappoint. this beer may lack the depth, character and mouthfeel of the german greats, but i give it a little extra credit for being yet another good japanese craft beer. and at a very reasonable price, 330 yen. like the smell, the taste is not exactly unique or remarkable, but it's solid and tasty. highly recommended if you are in the yokohama area. i got it at the major shopping center downtown, have never seen it anywhere else.
