Seasonal choice at the brewery.
Look was a reddish brown hue, 1” head.
Smell was that of a German style beer.
Taste was smooth and warm.
Feel was ok, nothing special stands out.
Overall a decent beer.

Draught @ Brewpub: This one poures a clear mahogany color. There was about 2 fingers of an off white head on it (demerits to the bartender). The head lingers a bit and leaves some lacing. Some malts poking up thru a musty earthiness. No real sweetness to the nose. The taste is good. Caramel malt with a touch of sweetness. Some earthiness and biscuit with a touch of dryness in the finish. Not bad, but I’ve hav better Alts.

This was the seasonal offering during this year’s Mardi Gras season. Served in their standard Hefe-pilsner hybrid glass, the beer is brown with amber highlights. It has a slightly sticky beige head.
The beer has a nose of lightly roasted grains and some slightly floral notes.
The beer starts with light toasted grains, a bit of brown sugar and then finishes slightly dry with a bit for floral hops. It is balanced and paired well with my gumbo.
The mouth is above average with mid-level carbonation. I enjoyed this take on a style you really don’t see enough of.
