Bottle into Paulaner stein in low altitude Galway, Ireland. Acquired at Aldi in Galway. Bottle is mysteriously vague about its German origin.
A: Pours a textbook clear gold with a pathetic two finger head of bad retention. Not excited to try this. At least it's a budget beer.
Sm: Clear barley. That's it. A thankfully light scent. This is gonna suck, lads.
T: Barley body plus a little cream on the open. Whoopty fucking doo. Poorly built for the style. Unbalanced. Crap.
Mf: The cream and thickness save it, but it's unnaturally thick. You gulp on it, but the body doesn't substantiate this. Fake crap.
Dr: German purity law me arse. It has its pricing going for it, which is actually quite reasonable, but that don't save it. If you're in Ireland, get this over bavaria crown, but don't expect anything special.

Typical pilsner but more than drinkable.

Lively gold with a white carpet. 4
Grain and grass. 3.75
Dusty cream cracker, a hit of honey, and dry hay. 3.5
Thin, crisp, fizzy. 3.5
Grainy, rather than any depth to the malts and one-note hops with no Noble delicacy. At the same time, no creamed corn, brown paper or any of the usual sins you’d see in supermarket lager. You could do a lot worse for €1.17 a bottle. 3.75

Appearance: It's clear and golden with foamy bright white head two fingers thick.
Aroma: Grassy, lemon zest, wisps of spice, light dryness in the nose. Faint apple and pear.
Taste: Crisp mouthfeel at the start. Lemon zest, grassy, floral hop, apple with a dry finish.
Notes: Would I pick this one up again yes it's may not be one the best Pilsners but it's good. Cheers

Folks..... It's 99p a bottle (Aldi).
Served chilled it's a whole lot better than most of the supermarket beers on sale in UK.
Okay.... it doesn't take 7 minutes to pour, but it's fairly drinkable.

500mL bottle for 99p in Aldi, decent enough pilsner. It is good to see Aldi selling beer brewed in Germany for a change.

Served cool from 500ml bottle into straight pilsner mug. This was 99p from Aldi, so....
L) Mid to light gold colour, clear, lines of bubbles rising. 5mm bubbly white head.
S) Light pilsner malt, definitely. Hops are light too....
T) Bready-ish malt and a nice dryness on the hops.
F) On-style; medium to light carbonation and there is a dryness in the aftertaste.
O) Maybe I'm a cheapo tramp, but I like this one. For 99p, I can't complain.

99p at Asda. Cheap but you get what you pay for and quite a bit must be duty alone. It is an uninteresting beer with a bland mouth-feel. There is a touch of bitterness on the back of the mouth to 'balance' a saccharine emetic toffee malt taste. This makes it hard to drink as it sort of annoyingly saturates the taste buds making it neither a session beer or one to enjoy with a BBQ on a summer's day. Best under a bridge out of a carrier bag while kicking off the rats.

Garbage stuff....just about drinkable although it is better than macro stuff like bud etc...bought in aldi..for supermarket beer you're better buying an English ale theres no comparison. Price actually is bad considering how easy it is to brew stuff like this
