Fresh at the source, not who knows how old and malty from an undated bottle.

Very good DIPA. Tropical cherry, strawberry & Orange starburst candy and sticky dank pine hops in the back. Dry in the finish. I would definitely have this again at the source or if assured a fresh bottle.

Solid stuff.

Thick amber pour with minmal head... got a nice blast of hops right off the bat, which is what I look for in any IPA.

Great hop and malt taste... it is thick and great beer to sip and enjoy... I enjoyed mine with a crispy slice of supreme pizza...

This is my first try of a Black Diamond beer, and it is definatly one I would buy again!

This beer was from a 22 oz. bomber. The color was a hazy orange with has a nice small bubble, white lace top carbonation.

The aroma is a nice resiny, citrus, grapefruit with a sweet malt backbone.

The taste is well balanced between the biscuit/crystal malt sweetness and hoppy bitterness. The beer finishes with a dry citrus hop finish.

This beer has a medium to full body. Smooth balanced finish.

Overall this is a very good, balanced Imperial IPA. Not overly bitter. At 9% ABV its very drinkable/smooth DIPA.

this is sort of a scary beer. because it comes in with a whopping 9%ABV yet it is emminently smooth and drinkable. you could get in trouble with this bad boy if you didn't know what you were drinkin'. i would put it up there with the Green Flash Imperial IPA and SN Torpedo, which both go down almost too easy for the alcohol punch they pack.

pours a nice clear amber, foams up to a two finger head and leaves a little lacing as you drink it down, but it is a clean fresh tasting beer -- not one you would expect to be "chewey" and thick. this is the IIPA you are after!

the hop aroma is excellent, on the grapefruity side but with a nice piney bite -- they say it is TRIPLE DRY HOPPED, i wish they would give some indication of the varieties they use. they are trying to bowl you over with the hops here and they actually do better than that -- the bitterness level is appropriate, not overpowering, it finishes clean and your palate is not ruinated. you can appreciate a fresh tasting hoppy brew here, they are not killing you with IBUs.

they did a nice job with this beer -- their regular IPA the jagged edge is quite good too -- a quality session brew.

review from notes.
poured from bomber into a snifter.
nice golden amber color, with decent 1/4 inch head and lacing present the whole glass.
smell is of sweet citrus hops. Very enjoyable. The taste is well represented by the smell. Nice sweet hops present with a small hint of malt. Easy to drink, I was surprised when I had finished the bottle, very easy considering its ABV.
Great beer, will seek this one out again.

Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike!

The beer is yellow hued with a thin, white head. The aroma brings a bouquet of varied citrus and inviting hops. The taste is quite good as well, with a dry, bitter finish. The feel is quite pleasant, with the 9% abv well disguised. Overall, a solid beer. I really enjoyed this.
