Our take on a rarely-seen classic. Start with one of our favorite lagers and add a boat-load of Mandarina Bavaria hops. A fine balance is struck between hoppy and refreshing.

Appearance - hazy straw colored body with white head

Smell - bread, grain , citrus

Taste - bread, grain, citrus/lemon zest from the hops

Mouthfeel - medium bodied, medium carbonation, slight breadyness/sweetness upfront, hoppy/citrusy in the finish, crisp and refreshing

Overall - even though this is dry hopped, it doesnt detract much from the experience. I find this beer to be easy to drink and refreshing, appropriate for those hot summer days adn when you just want something to go down the gullet. For the price point, its a good beer, give it a shot.

Price Point - $7.99/4 pack/16 oz cans

0.5 L pour on draft at Brewers Fork in Charlestown.

Translucent straw color with 1 finger fluffy white head and thin lacing.

Flavors of wheat/grain, bread, and very slight hops. Really refreshing and light, more like a Pilsner quality with little bite or bitterness. Some sweetness.

This was an enjoyable one and something I’d try again.

16oz. can served in my Spiegelau pilsner glass. Pours a straw-colored hue with a dense, three inch, bright white head honey-combed below the cap. There's a slight haze to the clarity. Nose expresses grassy notes and hints of sour mash and sweet malt akin to wort at the boil. Taste follows nose, but comes off a little watery. Mouthfeel is light in body with a somewhat underwhelming carbonation. Overall, drinkable but there are better examples of the style out there.

Reviewing as part of BJCP training. 7C. Kellerbier. Canned 12/10/18

Pours a light airy fizzy 1 finger head, fair retention, very little lacing, semi hazy golden pilsner

Nose is quite like a Helles out front, toasted rich doughy malts, nice fresh noble floral grassy hops, little bread dough and yeast, possibly faint diacetyl, no fruit

Taste more like German pilsner with the fresh hops, big noble hops with floral grassy flavors, fair bitterness not too bitter, not spicy either, doughy toasted pilsner malt, light malt and mostly just pilsner and less depth of a Helles, touch of diacetyl and young yeast characters, touch fruity esters to I think, fair bitterness on the dry finish

Mouth is med to lighter bod, decent fizzy carb, little soft creamy but not that much

Overall not bad, love the fresh noble hops, but a little too hoppy in balance, also more general pilsner than malt depth of Helles, but nice young beer yeast characters

Canned 12/10/18.
Pours a super pale yellow with a slightly grainy nose but has the massive flavor I look for in this style. Almost barny, the malt bill emphasizes that unique character of a Kellerbier. Super drinkable and crisp, this is one of my favorites so far in this category.

Pours into a mug a hazed lighter lemon tinged golden with a half finger white head that never really settles fully.Toasted grains with a hint of mineral in the nose with a mellow hop profile.A nice bright palate of leafy and citric hops intertwined with a nice bready crisp base, immensely drinkable but with great flavors.A bigger hop profile than 99% of the style but damn this is a quaffing lager to be searched out.

Hazy, but less than expected for style, gold, with a pure white topper that starts at two fingers height and ends as a thick, lasting cap. Nice.

Med./full aroma, lemon grass and crackers, some yeasty tart, and very crisp, slightly spicy grain notes. Nice.

Taste is med. strength and just like the nose, with the addition of some very nice earthy bitter orange notes that come to the fore at end of sip and give it a nice dry out. There is a hint of sweet to this but it is far from a sweet beer, and it has a good hops presence but it is far from a hoppy beer. Simple and tasty for sure.

Good refreshment due to light on palate while carrying a good deal of resin. Spritzy carb. med. bodied, with a decent if uninspired finish. As it goes along there is a bit of a resiny build that never gets bad but def. distracts.

I would rate this higher if there weren't some made that are more what I look for in a beer supposed to be ungespundet. It is less full bodied, less easy drinking, and less clean lingering than one would hope. Good, not great. OTOH it is different and refreshing which for the price could be enough to recommend this, and I do.

Very hazy golden yellow, the look of a summer sunset before it goes orange, and a sudsy white head. Grassy notes on the nose - and a citrus note.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Mandarina Bavaria hop, which lends hoppy citrus notes to this already excellent beer. If I had access to this, it would always be in my beer fridge.

A: The beer is clear light yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that slowly died down, leaving a short head covering the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and a little lacing on the bottom of the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of cracker malts and yeast are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of yeast and bready malts along with strong notes of cracker malts towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. There is also a slight amount of chewiness to the mouthfeel and dryness in the aftertaste.
O: This kellerbier has a very good balance between the yeast and malt in the taste. It is a good representation of the style.
