Very Good
Conehead IPAConehead IPA
Notes: Our single hop wheat IPA, brewed with all Citra hops. Lighter in color and lower in a.b.v. than a typical American IPA, this beer has just the right amount of hop flavor and aroma. Completely satisfyingly awesome in its crispiness and well-rounded hopaliciousness. This beer might just be your Rushmore.

Pour a golden color out of the can with about a two inch head and laces as one consumes it. Smells mildly hoppy and tastes the same. It has a hoppy finish that more bitter than its smell or initial hit would indicate. Overall, it is a very good beer. I like it but I prefer Second Fiddle if the two options are present.

we need more beer like this, less belgian, less coriander, more hops! finally a wheat beer hopped like an ipa but not corrupted by the same generic belgian stuff they all seem to be now. its not a hoppy wit, its an ipa! love it. this is light in color with not as much cloudiness as expected for a wheat brew. the nose has a lot of hops on it, citrusy but mild, cascade type alpha acid, and a sturdy dry hop on this i suspect. flavor has plenty of bitterness all the way through it, no doubt about it being an ipa, and my critique is oddly that there isnt much malt flavor to this. i want more wheat malt popping this off. its too light in body, i want some grit from the wheat. its too passive there for me, but they got the important part right i think. close to being amazing. mouthfeel is nice, a little light in body, but there is some hop oils swirling around and a lot of bubbles. fun stuff, nice for summer.

One and a half years ago I went on a weekend beercation to Burlington, VT with the guys. One of our stops was Flatbread restaurant where we enjoyed brews by Zero Gravity. Happy to see it in NYC.
Cone Head pours that orange straw Vermont haze look that I like. The carbonation is visible. A fingernail length head is bubbly on top. It disapates and leaves behind a ring of frothy lacing and a film that retains well.
At first the citrus fruit, particularly grapefruit pulp, orange rind and lemon peel dominate the aroma. Then, a waft of tropical fruit including pineapple, mango and passion fruit. Finally, a generous helping of herbal, grassy and peppery hops spices things up nicely.
In the mouth the palate was dry overall and with the hops playing a leading role. The grapefruit pith is in the foreground while a pineapple and slight lemon zest adds tartness and gentle acidity on the backend. The pine bitterness is evident in the finish, as is a slight garlic and onion herbal quality from the hops. Medium bodied with a wheat like fullness and smoothness. The carbonation adds a moderate bite.
Overall I thought this was a solid IPA that was more on the light side and easy to drink.

12 oz can, w/o freshness info that I can find

Pour is typical slightly hazed lighter almond Amber, lasting khaki cap leaves quality looking sheeting.

Herbal hoppy sniff

Fresh hoppy brew...nice tasty IPA in a can...life is good

On tap at American Flatbread on 6/11/11.

A - Extremely pale, hazy golden wheat-colored liquid with a thin white cap that receded, leaving behind a bevy of thick, lacy designs around the glass.

S - Citrus and wheat bread notes mingle together nicely, giving the aroma a light, juicy quality. A hint of wildflowers and toasted grains rounds out the aroma.

T - Flavor is really fresh and juicy with lots of citrus character as well as floral notes akin to wildflowers on the side of the road. Malt is sweet and doesn't prevent the hops from shining through here. With that said, Conehead isn't terribly bitter. This is light, flavorful and juicy.

M - Light bodied with a hint of dryness on the palate and a crisp, refreshing moderately hoppy finish.

D - Conehead reminds me of Shut the Hell Up! that I just had at The Alchemist, although not quite the hop bomb. I found this to be light, refreshing and poundable. Good stuff!

Consumed 7/18/15, growler filled today

A: Lightly hazy, golden and hay-colored with a tinge of tangerine - pours with a medium sized, white head, fades to a small cap, leaves some nice lacing

S: Bright citrus and less wheat than I was expecting - fresh orange and grapefruit flesh - hints of mango and peach flesh - slight hint of lemon, lime - lightly dank - pale malts and a touch of wheat

T: Bright and fresh without being aggressive - citrus flesh and juice, with a lot of orange, grapefruit, and ruby red grapefruit - touches of pineapple and mango flesh - hint of lime - medium level of bitterness that does not really linger - pale malts and some wheat, but not much - lighly earthy aftertaste, mostly clean and refreshing

M: Medium body, lightly carbonated, dry finish

O: Not brewed in France

I got a 32oz growler of this and it basically evaporated. This stuff is very, very easy to drink. It's not the most intense or exciting thing I've had from Vermont, but comparing this to the "Vermont IPA style" is not fair. Zero Gravity apparently decided to do their own thing. And I like it. This is a great summer beer.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Slight haze and some leftover yeast. Bit of a faded orange amber color. Slight head quickly gives way to a thin lacing. Not a lot of carbonation. Piney hops on the nose with some distinct tropical fruits. Taste is very hop forward but then gives way to a bit of a filmy biscuit flavor- I suppose that's what makes it a wheat IPA? A bit strange. Feel is nice except for that lingering aftertaste. Overall, definitely not bad, but certainly not in competition with the big IPAs.

12oz can poured into a pint glass.

A: Amber colored with a light haze. Fine-bubbled head dies rather quickly. Few spots of lacing.

S: Some bubblegum, Playful melon rind, a lot of juicy mango. Green and leafy. Simple wheaty base.

T: Green, leafy, and oily up front. Pithy. Juicy mango rides up and steals the show. Fleeting notes of melon and bubblegum. Green and oily bitterness is on the tamer side. Simple wheaty and lightly toasty grain base. Touch of caramel. Green and oily/spicy hops ride into the finish.

M: Medium bodied. Light and mildly frothy feel. Stiff blast of carbonation adds a crisp bite.

O: Very crushable. A super tasty and fun beer to drink. It was gone from the glass before I knew it. I really dig this brew actually.

Halfway to opaque, medium, gold, with a slim white head that's quick to vanish. Scent is weak, but a deep whiff pulls forth notes of ripe tangerine and peppery hops. Fresh citrus taste with some covert kiwi notes is thrown off by a strong malty finish that tastes like a handful of Wheaties. Crisp, medium-light body with lots of carbonation. Smooth and simple, a crisp IPA...until the wheat throws things into an unbalancing act.
