Though not yet available for purchase, Duck-Rabbit will offer their 'Farmville Riserva' and 'Rabid Braggot' Braggots in 750 ml cork-in-cage bottles at the brewery... someday. I was lucky enough to get an advance sample at a tasting held at the home of the assistant brewer.

'Farmville Riserva' is constructed from the leavings of D-R's most recent run of their excellent barleywine, with tons of honey added.

Though unfiltered, the drink pours a wonderfully clear hazelnut color with thick, creamy tan foam atop that retains very well and leaves a little lacing on the glass.

The smell is intoxicatingly honey-sweet and malty with a crispy note of brown sugar.

The taste is nectar-of-the-gods good, with luscious, creamy feel. Warmly sweet, honey-malty, and crisp with a pleasing whiff of the drink's double-digit ABV.

Definitely a drink to be sipped at and savored, but mild and delicious nonetheless. I'm looking forward to the commercial release of this excellent drink!

Edit *Update February '09* Duck-Rabbit has now brewed braggots from all the seasonal runs, and is standing by to bottle the uber-goodness whenever the whim hits and the proper licensing is in place.
