The Duck-Rabbit Märzen is the lightest of our German-style lagers. This is a beer designed for outdoor autumn festivals! Soft malt flavors take center stage here. This one is subtle and beguiling.

Medium size off white head over a reddish amber body. Standard aroma for the style; toasted bread, earthy maltiness. Modestly sweet taste of rich malts trying to keep the floral hops in check. Moderately carbonated, medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, nothing out-of-whack, but nothing to set it above the pack.

L - dark copper with brighter highlights and a light tan head that dissipates somewhat quickly, leaving behind minimal lacing
S -caramel malts and slight breadiness - the smell is somewhat faint however
T - Bready yeast and caramel malt intermixed well and throughout. Some earthy/mineral and floral notes on the back end. Some dark dried fruit and toffee as well. Slight hops
F - medium bodied with moderate carbonation
O - an ok marzen, but there are much better marzens out there

12oz bottle with a label that only goes out to a 2021 best by, so old labels or old beer. Poured into a mug at fridge temp, no ABV listed. The beer pours bright medium amber with khaki colored head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island. Slight lacing. The aroma is sweet caramel malt. The taste is semisweet caramel malt with a side of cardboard and moderate earthy bitter notes lingering on the finish. Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation and a semi dry finish. Overall, too much American caramel malt for me to try again, even if fresh.

A little too spicy for my taste. Not experienced with fest lagers. Duck Rabbits remind me of dr. Pepper. This one has a spicy flavor and feel to it. Aggressive beer. I keep spilling! Nah. Good head, big head. Excellent decal and graphic. (One of my favorite graphics so far). Incredible fragrance. Copper taste to my pour that brings taste and feel way down. Otherwise, good beer.

12oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $1.99. No visible bottled-on date; the website says that it is released in late August, so this is probably close to 3 months old.

Look: It's a nice amber color with ruby undertones. It's basically clear with some very small particulate suspension. Small one-finger of khaki head that basically receded except for a thin layer.

Smell: It has a nice aroma - mixture of fruity and floral notes combined with a subtle maltiness and spiciness. Up front, I get notes of fresh apple cider and cherry blossoms. Spicy hop notes on the finish, along with rustic bread crust and subtle caramel notes. It smells like it is clean and crisp.

Taste: It's tasty. The flavors basically echo the nose. It's not as malty as I would expect from a Marzen, but then again this beer is only 4.6% ABV. Definitely get the apple and cherry flavors up front and the beer has a nice, fine carbonation. The finish is spicy/peppery and dry with just a bit of toasted maltiness lingering on the palate after the hops fade away. With the apple cider flavor along with the flavor of spices, this beer gives off a warm "mulled cider" note.

Feel: It's on the lighter side of medium-bodied - maybe 2/3 of the way between light and medium. Appropriately carbonated. It's very drinkable and very clean and crisp. I would ideally want a bit more body from a Marzen, but for what this is at 4.6% ABV it's understandably lighter and also more drinkable.

Overall: This is my first Duck-Rabbit beer review, however I have had beers from this brewery before. I think that I have had this Marzen in years past also. I like the apple and cherry flavors that this gives off; it's interesting. And it's very drinkable and has a good amount of flavor for a 4.6% ABV beer.

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of toffee, caramel, floral notes and fresh cut grass. Sweet toffee, caramel and a mild, citrusy bitterness.

12 oz bottle, best by December 2021, into Calusa snifter.

70% opaque fiery orange with a butter colored head of 1 finger. Good staying power.

Aroma is pumpernickel bread, granola, apricot, sliced almonds, and very slight circus peanut. Unique. Very toasted, very baked.

Flavor is quite a bit like the nose. Orange muffin, pumpernickel, almond, granola, then slight grass, some metallic notes. Moderate sweetness, mild bitterness.

Feel is carbonated and busy, with only slight starchiness, a little bit of creaminess underneath the carbonation, and no alcohol heat. Dries with some resins on the tip of the tongue.

Overall, a very tasty Marzen and one I'm glad I picked up. I'd probably revisit a bottle or two someday.

355 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika. ABV is 4.8%. Hazy orange-brown colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Aroma of wood, resin, smoke and ashes, hints of caramel. The flavour has first some malty sweetness with caramel, but ends dry and ashy. Quite moderate resinous hops. Hints of smoke. Drinkable, but not something I’ll buy again.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Best by 12/10, so this years release.

Very nice crystal clear dark amber/red body. However the white head disappears very quickly, no lacing

Decent caramel malt aroma.

On tasting, very clean, heavily malty sweet taste. Goes down very easily.

Mouth slightly above medium, finish sweet.

Overall, decent marzen, clean, no nasty aftertaste. Quite sweet.

Enjoy by 12/2020. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a ruby amber with great clarity and transparency; small light khaki head that fades leaving nice retention and sticky lacing. Great color. The aromas have some hints of cherries and caramel. Some dark fruit. Lots of malts. The flavors follow the nose. More cherries along with some raisins. More caramel along with some cocoa. Nice little bitterness going on. It's not that sweet. Nice malt backbone. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is light-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's sharp, fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a nice brew. It comes off as slightly unique for the style, but ultimately is what you would expect from the style, more or less. It drinks bigger than it really is. The craftsmanship is on point. It's enjoyable and pretty fun to drink. There's something about this one that I really like.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass. A thin cream colored head drops quickly, no lacing. Color is copper with mild streaming carbonation. Aroma of rich malts and floral hops. Mouthfeel light to medium with an easy finish. Flavors are malt forward with fruity sweetness, caramel, cracker, floral hops. Overall: very good
