On tap at Natty Greene's in Raleigh
Pours amber with an orange hue. There's 1/4" lacing of head with decent retention. The nose is grassy, citrusy, floral hops; it seems to be a single hop variety. The taste is pale malt up front with the same citrusy, floral hops in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and moderately carbonated.
This is an easy drinking beer. I'm not sure what hop variety they used, but it dominates the nose and the flavor making it a little one dimensional overall.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at the brewpub.
Pours golden yellow with a bit of a white head that quickly recedes. Nose brings some floral hops and some slight citrus notes. The taste brings forward some more of the malt. A bit of pale malt with some light bitterness. Decent body with good carbonation and slightly bitter. Decent hop flavors but nothing that's terribly complex or over the top in any particular direction.

Radiant tangelo with a few fine yeasties swirling around immediately after the pour. The beautifully creamy crown is an indicator of obvious quality. Its 'eggshell soaked in orange juice' hue is a perfect complement to the beer beneath, and its stickiness is resulting in all sorts of attractive lace.
For a beer that was dry-hopped with Cascade, there sure isn't much Cascade character in the nose. It's balanced (too much so) between lightly earthy malt and only modestly fruity hops. APAs ought to be hoppier than this, but I'll reserve judgment until the taste buds have their say.
Too bad the brewers didn't back off the toasted malts. Their aroma and flavor muddies things up and keeps the hops from shining as brightly as they might have. Setting my personal preferences aside for a moment, this is still well-crafted beer.
The start is dominated by lightly toasted, lightly earthy, lightly nutty, lightly sweet barley. At the midway point, citrus fruit-like hops fade in and progressively take over as the finish approaches. The constantly changing nature of the flavor arc is interesting, even if it never really wows.
The mouthfeel is within the vast range of medium for the style. Like the flavor, it doesn't stand out in any way, yet it has no real faults. The carbonation is zesty without being overly buzzy.
Southern Pale Ale is a pretty good effort that different people will feel differently about based on their individual preferences about the APA style. I wouldn't mind another bottle right now, if that tells you anything worthwhile.

Wow an oasis in a beer wasteland I already like this place, their plae ale pours a deep golden with a nice sticky, frothy head, more of a mlat dominated aroma of biscuit and light caramel but with a touch of piney hop.A very well balanced brew a firm lightly sweet malt backbone with a piney hop flavor that comes to make this a well balanced flavorsome beer.I could drink beers like this all day if it wasnt for the wife I would still be there drinking some.

A: a very light translucent color, miller liteish.
S: grains and malts overpower the nostrils, but not in a pleasing way.
T: a decent tasting pale ale but leaves an unremarkable bitter aftertaste.
MF/D: bland hops sizzle the tongue very briefly leaving much to be desired, great for a warm summer day however.

Clear golden-amber in color. Thin, yet lacing layer of white head. Aromas are of citrusy, with a little bit of malt. Flavor is flavorful. There's some level of malt support, but it's really about the hops. Finishes dry, with just a touch of honey to balance the hop bitterness. Good mouthfeel and a real drinker. I'll definitely be drinking this whenever I stop by again.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Hazy Amber with a thick off white head.
Smell: Very strong citrus smell with pine notes.
Mouthfeel/ Taste: Smooth medium bodied. Taste of bitter hops and pine notes. Light citrus.
Overall: Not a bad beer. But far from the best pale ale. I would not go out of my way to have it again.

Slightly milder than standard pale ale but a good choice if there aren't other options. Decent taste just a tad lighter tasting pale ale.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Unibroue snifter.
A: The beer is a deep amber color. Poured quite clear although a small amount of sediment remained at the bottom of the bottle. Has a short white head that soon fades to a ring, leaving little lacing on the glass.
S: The aroma is complex and malty for style. Features caramel malts and some pale hops and light hops with hints of vanilla, honey, and citrus.
T: The taste has a crisp and spicy/herbal hop component along with a sweet malt base. Overall, mildly bitter by the finish. More malt in the finish and aftertaste than expected. Complex flavor components integrate nicely.
M: Crisp; medium body; medium carbonation; semi-dry finish.
O: A complex and flavorful APA. More malty than average due to the load or assortment of malts; not to any lack of hops. Recommended.

Looks pleasant and refreshing. Warm golden amber color, clear and crisp, with a near white foamy top. The head fades to a ring with a thin layer in the middle. Aroma carries fresh hoppy goodness, sweet fruit, grass, hay, and a good amount of doughy sweet malt. Nice graininess. Taste is good and malty with bright cascade hops among others. Lightly bitter which is just where I like it for this kind of pale ale. Mouthfeel is good. Brisk carbonation, a touch of graininess in the texture, and a medium-light body.
Overall I like this beer. Thanks to the local factor, it very fresh. Good balance and very enjoyable, especially after a lazy day in the sun.

Pure golden yellow body with a light head that thinned but retained fairly well. Not much lace. Moderate carbonation.
Didn't really smell like much other than the expected pine aroma from the hops. A deeper couple whiffs and you get some citrus too.
Very enjoyable flavors, with hops spiciness up front, a good sharpness balanced by the bitterness and a strong enough malt sweetness and citrus-y element to add further balance and depth. Felt good and tingly in the mouth, just ever so slightly on the watery end of things.
No real complaints. If you're looking for a sharp and bitter Pale Ale with good balance, this delivers.

I'm trying this at my Bestie's in Charlotte. It poured a clear golden with no head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had hints of over prime and bitter hop. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with fizzy carbonation. Overall it's ok.
