First had in Durham, North Carolina, poured from 12-oz. bottle into clear plastic beer cup. Filtered and rather muted in the wheat and spices, this comes off rather K├Âlsch-like.

This witbier meets visual expectations: a thick, rocky white (and short-lived) head on a cloudy, pale-straw-colored body. The nose is mostly wheat, with very faint hints of orange and coriander; the same is true on the palate, where a clean wheat flavor dominates, enlivened by a fizzy carbonation. The finish is very clean and balanced with a hint of citrus; between the clean finish, light body and thin texture, this is a very easy-drinking beer. This is a great choice if you want a beer where the focus is almost completely on the wheat. For a witbier, though, I prefer that citrus/spice/florals have a stronger presence than they do here.
