Look: Straw to golden in color; transparent. Pours with a rich, one finger light tan head; lots of thick sticky lacing on the sides of the glass. Lots of bubbles' very effervescent. Looks inviting, though a little commercial.

Smell: Mild hoppy aroma; slightly sweet with some citrus.

Taste: Smooth start, followed by a slightly bitter, mildly hoppy flavor, with a slight dry finish. Refreshing.

Feel: Light to medium body; lots of medium carbonation; slightly dry finish.

Overall: I really enjoyed this beer. I found it refreshing. Not too hoppy; not too heavy. A good solid drinking beer, though tending a little towards commercial. Would be a great summer beer or pizza beer. I would gladly drink this again!

Gold color; clear. Near white head which settles very slowly. Leaves a blanket of bubbles for lace.

Clean, prickly smell of grapefruit. There's also some pleasant fresh hop cone aromas.

Dry malt start with a peppery hop swallow. The aftertaste is very dry and bitter, lasting a long time. Rich body, low carbonation. I defy anyone to recognize this as a lager.

On-tap 10/7/2014 at Doherty’s Ale House in Warwick, RI, served in a tapered pint glass.

A: The beer is a bright gold color, with a large white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains lager yeast, caramelized malts, grassy hops and a faint touch of citrus.

T: The taste starts out with a harsh burnt malt flavor that throws everything off and some lager yeast breadiness up front. There are some flavors of caramel and citrus along with a good hops presence. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and brings a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Not very tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, decent kick, decent representation of style, this is just a mediocre beer at best.

Everyone and their brother is doing an IPL now thanks to the awesomeness of Jack's Abby! Let's see how another local brewery, although borderline even still considered a micro brewery, does it. I'm not expecting much as they haven't done a whole lot of great things lately.

Pours a smaller fizzy 1/2 finger head that fades at a med pace, decent foamy lacing, quite clear golden straw tan color.

Nose actually is fairly nice, nice Czech Pils style aroma, straw, grainy malts, soft with a little grassy malt notes, touch toasty, bit of a juicy malt, and faint mineral not quite sulfur like lager note, fairly big spicy earthy hops, mostly grassy and leafy.

Taste is more Czech pilsner but a bit more sweet and grainy, big toasty sweet malts, a bit of an amber sweet malt, a bit too sweet overall, as well as a salty briny mineral note that's meh. Malts bring mild straw and husky grassy malts, toasty with a sweet candy like flavor too. Hops bring grassy earthy flavors, big bitterness that overpowers most of the beer other than the salty briny mineral note unfortunately, the two worst components of this beer. All the nice subtleties are destroyed by this. Light crisp lager, fruity lager notes, that minerality from the lager with not so great water. Finish attempts to dry but stays sticky sweet, a little candy note, more mineral and salty briny flavors, more grassy earthy overpowering hop and big bitterness.

Mouth is med bod, little sweet syrupy like, lighter but decent carb.

Overall started nice with a decent Czech like pilsner, but then was destroyed by overpowering juxtaposed hops that just don't work well at all with the softness of the beer, and that salty briny flavor from the bad water for the pilsner lager I believe, and minerals that just destroy all the good qualities of the beer. It's a shame cause it could have been such a nice beer but just exploded in the wrong direction.

Enjoy By 12/15/14

A: Pours a golden yellow color with a fingers worth of head that fades down to a thin cap

S: Pilsner malt combines with a nice citrusy fruitiness and a bit of pine. A little bit of biscuity malt also comes through. Solid

T: Starts off with some of the citrus and fruitiness, then goes into the pilsner malt that includes some of the biscuity notes. A hint of pine comes through as well, along with a decent amount of bitterness. Finishes with some bitterness and pilsner malt

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A solid IPL with a decent amount of hoppiness and a good base. Could definitely be a little hoppier, but it's still nice and leans more towards the pilsner side. Pick some up if you enjoy the style or are a fan of the series
