Pours golden amber , clear and with a good head of cream colored foam that lasts and clings. Nose is plentiful with mango. You can even smell a little sweetness on the nose. The fruit peel and the ripe fruit plus a sugary scent. A cool herbal hop with some spice and pepper. A generous cracker malt. There is also a scent from yeast or maybe it's sulfur. I think that is a very beery smell. Taste is good but the fruit killed this beer. It's too sweet and too heavy. There is no hop bitterness and the malt just sinks into the finish. Lackluster not lively and much too sweet overall.

12 oz can with a BB date stamp on the bottom of 15 July 2016. Served in a lager glass.

A- deep amber body with an off-white head that has good retention. Decent lacing.

Aroma: tropical fruits, particularly mango and pineapple, dominate some faint light grain scents.

T- good mango flavor with hint of green apples, other tropical fruits, and light hops. Enough hop bitterness for bitter/sweet balance.

M- medium body with medium, soft carbonation.

Overall: crisp, tropical and refreshing; a fine brew for the summer.

Sample batch bottled in January. Pours deep gold with a firm little off-white head of foam. With its bright filtered appearance, it could almost be mistaken for a Märzen at a distance. Sweet, mango pith (and perhaps a bit of peach or nectarine) on the nose immediately lets you know you're drinking a fruited ale though. There is a trace of pale base malt in the aroma as well, but this beer is definitely putting mango in the spotlight—nuanced it is not. In terms of flavor, there is some similarity to Harpoon's English-style IPA. Smooth, and solidly medium bodied with nod to balance, it tastes like a fluffy biscuit smothered in fruity jam. Again, the mango shines and sweetness prevails. And then, like the end of a summer that didn't last long enough, Camp Wannamango finishes with a whisper of bitterness—earthy and herbal—that serves as a reminder that yes, this Pale Ale had hops in it, too.

Turning towards the ocean, almost naked, underneath palm trees. A long blade hacks into a mango &, with the aid of a hand, starts skinning it. The flesh, a yellow gleam, entices.

Copper-amber beer, shining, without much head. An ale at first, a simple dip, before turning overly-sweet towards the end, with a tropical linger. The name evokes a kind of summer camp, where you—drenched in sweat—spy on a lover from afar, unable, but aching for love. Because of that, I think this beer has tinges of a muted romance spouting from it, despite Harpoon advocating it as a guitar-next-to-the-fire kind of beer.

An ale with fruit juice that you can actually taste. An enjoyable, sunlit experience.

See through orange tinged beer with a quickly receeding head. Big mango, slight citrus and malt is what I get from the nose. I like the flavor profile, it's mango that really works well leading into the malt finish of this brew. Good balance with slightly bitter hops against the initial sweetness of this brew. This beer is not cloying at all. Crisp and well carbonated. Overall, a fairly likable beer.

A copper-colored beer with a small white head.
Tropical fruit and sweet malt aroma. Faint.
Heavy dose of mango in the taste. Not great and it left a bad aftertaste in my mouth.
It is a summer beer, but that doesn't make it a good beer.

12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, "ENJOY BY 07/15/16"

Typical pale ale presentation

Hint of tropical fruit and soft hoppyness on the nose

Pleasingly tropical fruit notes up front with moderate hop presence. Tasty and enjoyable. Remains in the typical Harpoon middle of the road posture..Decent and worthy but nothing really outstanding...Nice summery kinda brew, works in a pinch if nothing more exciting is available

Pours clear, gold in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is pale malt, and unripened mango juice. Slightly bitter, moderate carbonation and light bodied. Based off of the name, I was expecting a beer with more of a mango lassi flavor. Taste is more subdued and not as sweet. Makes for a slightly above average ale. Not bad, but nothing I will be rushing out for again.

L: Mango starts the aroma supported by biscuit, nuts and fruit

S: the hop aromas and the mango work at cross purposes and the beer smells a little oxidized

T: The flavors start lightly sweet with come mango especially in the middle and it finishes moderately dry. There is a low level of scrambled egg on the flavor along with a vegetable note and a little wet cardboard.

F: The body is medium light and the carbonation is medium.

O: This beer is unlikable and clearly past its prime but even at 6 months or so, it should be drinkable.

Has been bottled and was able to pick up a single at Trader Joe's. Mango comes through in smell and at the back end. Surprisingly light looking, subdued IPA taste and unexpected hops. Big Squeeze Shandy is still king but a really solid entry and perfect for summer quenching.

Harpoon Brewery "Camp Wannamango"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, "ENJOY BY 069 07/15/16 11:13"

Notes: Typical clear golden-amber pale ale appearance beneath a frothy head of white. Fairly good head retention and better lacing. Aroma displays sweet mango upfront with very little "pale ale" behind it. The flavor follows suit, and it's a decent fruit beer with a sweet mango edge. It doesn't seem authentic but the main label reads "PALE ALE WITH MANGO" - although it also lists "BEER WITH NATURAL FLAVORS" on the side, which suggests an extract. The body is medium and the carbonation is fine-bubbled and a little soft, accentuating the sweetness which in turn bolsters the mango flavor. I'm on the fence as to whether or not it should be more carbonated, but I'll take it as it is. A decent summer beer, although I'm somehow looking for just a little bit of acidity to bring it more into balance.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear golden amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is is all mango. The taste is mangoes and mild hops, very refreshing.
