Come on people! I just don’t get the low ratings for this, you have to take the beer for what it is aiming for! On a hammock on an island on a hot day, this beer is delicious and even if you not you can pretend and this beer/shandy rocks. Super tasty, light, crisp, and awse pineapple aroma and slight less powerful taste takes you away to a tropical place! I could drink this all day, my only complaint is that I wish the ABV was in the below 4% range so I COULD drink this all day.

From the 12 fl. oz. can with a canning date of 02/18/19. Sampled on June 29, 2019.

The pour looks acceptable with its slightly chill hazed amber-yellow and a modest then fading white head.

The aroma is like a fruit festival. Pineapple - pineapple, and more pineapple. Way too over the top for my liking. Hardly anything in the way of bready or toasted grainy malts.

Light, effervescent body.

The taste, like the aroma, is just too over the top for me. More like drinking pineapple juice than beer. I am usually a big fan of Harpoon beers but this was not one of their better efforts in my opinion.

A: hazy; deep gold in color; less than a 1 finger white head that receded quickly to a big bubbled collar; very little lacing;

S: pineapple starburst;

T: pineapple starburst flavor from the start; gets a little stronger toward the middle and then fades fast; no bitterness;

M: light bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;

O: artificial aroma and flavor are the biggest problems here;

Poured from a 12 oz. can. This beer came oozing out, resulting in a golden color with a 2 inch head. Smell is bursting with pineapple. Taste is of pineapple, wheat, a bit tart, mild but refreshing. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

Pours thin (out of a can) with a little lacing. It's very cloudy and has a very rich smell of pineapple. It has a little aftertaste of pineapple. The hefe taste is lacking. It doesn't feel like it's brought together very well. Strictly average and won't buy it again.

12 Oz Can poured into glass
Look - cloudy and yellow, looks like pineapple juice. Small foam head and minimal glass lacing
Smell - Aroma leaves a lot to be desired. Almost like bubble gum. I'm not picking up any pineapple. More like a fruity chemical type thing
Taste - Tart but not refreshing. Not much in the way of pineapple. Sort of a prickly aftertaste and somewhat sweet. Medium-high carbonation. Only moderately drinkable. It's not awful but this flavor just isn't that enjoyable to me.

Overall, it's obviously disappointing, nothing in the way of hops, there's no pineapple or wheat characteristics. Just strange and lesson learned. This beer gets a B-

Had kind of forgot about this one for a bit, but figured tonight was the night to pull it out. Basically grabbed a can awhile back because a pineapple hefeweizen sounded interesting to me. Description online read, “Introducing UFO’s first new year-round product in eight years, UFO Pineapple is a golden, juicy and tropical hefeweizen that helps you get your luau on… no matter the season. Just add hula skirts.”

Poured a pale semi-hazy color with two fingers of off-white frothy head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Decent watery lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.75)

Smelled what initially seemed like tons of booze, like in a malt liquor. But then got pineapple, peach, apricot, tangerine, green apple, banana and even Juicy Fruit gum. More pineapple and peach from the can. Wasn’t getting much hefe notes. (Smell - 3.50)

Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose. Still was getting those initial impressions of a malt liquor, not hefeweizen. Got pineapple, green apple, pear, peach, apricot, tangerine, grain, creamy corn, banana, Juicy Fruit and grass. (Taste - 3.00)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, fruity finish. (Feel - 3.00)

As far as hefeweizens go, this was not that good. Would not have it again. (Overall - 3.00)

I didn't have high hopes for this, but even still it let me down. Not much pineapple aroma or flavor, and not much of a hefeweizen base either. It's like they took 1/3 hefeweizen, 1/3 wheat beer, 1/3 water and sprinkled in a little pineapple juice. Bland and boring.

12 oz can at the Spring 2018 ASMF. BB date stamped 15 August 2018.
Hazy pale amber body.
The flavor of wheat dominates for a moment before a matching level of pineapple kicks in. Good pineapple flavor although the aroma suggests something less appealing.
FEEL: Light body with medium carbonation and a clean, semi-dry finish.
Overall: well worth trying.

Mass. Bay Brewing Co. "UFO Pineapple"
12 fl. oz. can, "Enjoy By 043 08/15/18 20:00" and sampled on 04/05/18
$1.83 @ Cherry Hill Liquor, Wine & Beer (Wegmans), Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: Ha ha, it kind of looks like pineapple juice! It's a hazy golden beneath a full head of fluffy white foam. Maybe my pour was too rough, I'll have to wait for it to settle... OK, so nice appearance with very good head retention and lacing. That's out of the way. The aroma is sweetish like pineapple, and apple, but I'm not finding any weizen yeast character. The flavor doesn't deliver the sweet pineapple found in the nose, and is actually rather thin in general, but does offer some light wheaty malt, and the apple character remains. Again I'm not really finding any weizen yeast character and I'm guessing that it's not used for this beer. It's moderately bitter, and given the limited amount of malt I'm fairly sure it couldn't handle much more. It finishes mostly dry, and some sweetish malt and apple flavor lingers for a bit. Light-medium in body and gently crisp then smooth. Overall it falters. I don't think it qualifies as a "hefeweizen" unless you want to call it an American "hefeweizen", but I can give it a pass on that. However, putting aside the fairly nice aroma and concentrating only on the flavor it's a let down. It's thin. It's light in both body and flavor. What's there is nice, but it's more like some kind of watered down juice drink than a beer. Just my 2 cents.

Poured from a 12oz can into glass. Best by date stamped on bottom of can is '08/15/18'.
Totally cloudy, pale gold colored body. One finger white head settles to bubble fed ring. Leaves some spots of lacing.
Has tropical aroma of sweet pineapple, very pleasant.
Taste is very muted, and missing the full effect of the sweet pineapple. Has some bland characteristics of a wheat beer, but displays no fruity esters of a hefeweizen.
Medium mouth feel and good carbonation.
Taste is totally disappointing after the fresh, sweet, full fruit aroma.

L: Hazy light golden pour. Big head... solid lacing.

S: Pineapple and yeast. Smells great... tropical and fruity.

T/F: Big time disappointment. The pineapple on the nose is barely perceptible. All you're left with is a mediocre (at best) wheat beer. Lacking the flavor of a good Hefeweizen... generic. Light bodied... fizzy carbonation.

O: Smells great, tastes blech. Not one I'd get again.

L-The beer pours slightly hazy and yellow. The head is 2 fingers of irregular white bubbles. This recedes to a thing ring and central island. Lacing is minimal and spotty.
S- The nose is a strong burst of pineapple juice as soon as the can is opened and persists. If you like pineapple you will enjoy the nose. Pleasant but one note.
T-The sweet juice aspect in the nose is much more muted here. There is a bit of juice but it isn't overly sweet to my palate. Unfortunately there is very minimal hefeweizen character to this beer and comes off more like a dull pale ale with pineapple hints.
F- The mouthfeel is light to medium. The carbonation is medium. It finishes wet.
O- The nose leads with promise, but the taste falls flat both as a fruit beer and as a hefeweizen. It's drinkable, but in no way do I need to seek it out again.

Cloudy and gold. Small but lasting head. Very light lace.

Sweet aroma, very much like Juicy-fruit. I get the pineapple after the third whiff. Tropical sugary smell.

The flavor is mostly pineapple but not in a cloy way. It's sweet but not too much. The pineapple taste is similar to a freshly cut fruit. The body leans rich with a lighter carbonation enhancing the effect. The aftertaste is short (and not too sweet), but satisfying.
