Poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a pub glass.
A foamy 1'' white head pops up off the pour, receding to leave thick sticky lace drapes and a small collar of white.
Transparent filtered looking. Color is a light amber golden yellow.

Aroma is minerally bitters, a touch of pine and a small amount of citric hops, some malt and breadieness.
Aroma is pretty laid back and doesn't wow me much, for an ipa it should at least hold some more hops to the nose.

Taste is ultra bitter, lacking that malt filled sweetness that aroma held. So balance is now lost, but that's ok, because hops bite and deliver good flavors.
Bitter pine and ultra bitter grapefruit rind line the palette. A touch of hemp and picking up some floral hops as well. I want to say its like clover honey, without the sweetness. A touch of peppercorn and grassy hops with just a little aspirin.

Mouthfeel is thin and carbonation dominant.

Overall a different take on hops for an IPA. Its lacks any real fruity hops, sweet balanced malt or additional dimensions to make it stick out from the pack. The color is great and taste is good and bitter. But I've experienced all I need to with this one 12 ounce bottle.

I think this was previously released under the name, "Golden hop water."

Prickly, citric hops. The malt portion of the aroma is limited to a light cracker-like breadiness. Hop dominated flavor. While the bitterness isn't overwhelming, the lack of malt really helps to bring forth the hop flavor. Very citric and crisp but there's nothing here to keep this from being too one-dimensional in a not entirely pleasant way.

Pours a copper gold with a thin white head. Good retention and laceing. Aroma is of piney floral hops, and citrus. Body is a bit on the thin side with lots of carbonation. Taste is a nice balance. Piney hops, with hints of malt. Nice smooth finish. Not overly bitter, but still retains the IPA flavor.

Harpoon IPA fills my pint glass with a clear yellow beer crowned with a small, tenacious foam. Smells of sweet, apple-tinged malts, alcohol, and citrus hops.

Flavor is simple but good; a dry rush of sweet malts and a secondary mild tart bitterness from the hops. There’s a slight syrupy characteristic to the beer, but the bittering hops help keep it balanced. Mildly dry and crisp. The aftertaste is better than a lot of IPAs, it's richer and less harsh.

A very basic beer, Harpoon IPA doesn’t stray far from the style at all. I think it’s sweeter than many other IPAs I’ve had, and could use a bit less malt character and more hop flavor. There's a definate alcohol flavor in this one, not unwelcome but it comes on a bit strong. But all in all, not a bad beer and certainly an easy drinker.

Mmmm I have never gone wrong with an IPA and this is no exception. Beautiful fluffy head that stood well over the top of my glass, copper color. Very nice hop flavor, not that strong but you certainly can't miss it. Sticky lace all the way down. Extremely smooth, and an excellent mouthfeel, smooth and buttery. A great IPA.

P- MArket Cross Pub in Carlisle.

A- Frothy mountainous head that leaves a nice sticky lacing on my glass. a tangerine/yellow color that is clear.

S- grapefruit hops and some pine. A sweet malt smell as well.

T- Dry grapefruit hops. not as hoppy as some IPA's but it has a nice kick to it. Nothing else really stands out.

M-dry and smooth. filling and crisp.

D- a nice session beer and very easy to put back. This is a good tailgating beer.

Poured into a pint glass at a bar. Poured awfully clear for an IPA. Was a golden straw color, which I think is a negative for an IPA. No real head to speak of.

The smell isnt really amazing, but I cant find a fault other than its lack of something spectacular. Good citrusy hop aroma.

I really like the hops in this brew; they've got the right idea for my taste buds. They lean more toward the citrusy than the piney. The main problem I had with the taste was that an adjunct malt taste would sneak in every once in a while and ruin the good hoppy flavors. Tastes like a watered down IPA.

The aftertaste is consistent with the taste. Good hop, but when that adjunct malt flavor comes around, it tends to stick around.
