A blend of specialty malts gives this beer a velvety mouthfeel with roasted notes and a hint of chocolate, balanced by a subtle hop aroma. Hard to describe but easy to drink, Harpoon Dark is rich in character and light on the palate.

A - Dark brown with a nice thick head that leaves a very nice lacing.
S - Floral hops and roasted barely
T - The first taste is kind of a dark chocolate with sweet caramel. The roasted barely comes in after that. The hops are there but they are balanced with the malt. It tastes like i'm eating a dark chocolate and caramel cookie, but it is not overly sweet
M - Medium with nice mellow carbonation
D - Medium drinkability

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a cola color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of bready malts, light chocolate. Taste is the same as the aroma, smooth and easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

Pours a decent head, short lived and no lacing. Nice mouthfeel leading with a slightly sweet buttery taste followed by a hint of bitterness. Decent example of the Dunkel style. Drinkable, but enough depth to be a great beer.

Roasty, chocolatey, meaty, smoky, slightly fruity, dark toffee, caramel notes with some herbal hops, light feeling, clean, and easy drinking
