Very nice coffee porter...

I found this to be a very good espresso - rich and flavorful, though the mouthfeel is somewhat watery it wasn't overly distracting. The smell was superb - black coffee that you could just take in for days. As for the rest, it worked for me - the taste was full of roast and somewhat sweet, without being a dessert beer. A solid beer, one I would not hesitate to try again.

Poured moderately hard from a bottle into a snifter glass, resulting in a lot of light brown head that faded to light lacing. Medium/dark brown color, pretty coffee like (makes sense). Smell is a pleasant coffee. Taste is a slightly sweet, not too bitter, roasty coffee on a malty background. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Slightly above average coffee porter, but not a favorite.

Really attractive pour deep dark tones with a quarter inch of froth. Goes downhill fast where's the coffee? Where's the vanilla? Very mild roast tones maybe some creamer definitely no vanilla. Taste is muted and 1 note with barely any coffee or sweetness to speak of. Body is decent creamy smooth easy going. Overall if you told me this was a coffee porter I wouldn't believe you. Not bad just not as advertised.

Not a whole lot on the nose, but everything else is fantastic. A super well-balanced and drinkable Porter. Black pour, not overbearing or bitter on the coffee notes. It's like drinking your favorite cup of coffee with a little cream.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
Appearance- The beer pours a deep brown color with a one finger head of tan colored foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a little bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is mainly of a roasted malt smell with a moderate showing of an iced latte coffee smell. Along with these aromas comes some notes of molasses and a bit of vanilla.
Taste – The taste begins with a roasty malt flavor mixed with a little bit of a coffee taste. The coffee is lighter upfront, but gets stronger as the taste advances. All the while some crème and vanilla flavors as well as some caramel and molasses sweetness come to the tongue. With a little bit of a char flavor that develops at the very end one is left with a roasty and moderately coffee like flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – the body of the brew is on the average to slightly thicker side with a carbonation level that is medium. For the mix of coffee, roast and sweet the feel is pretty nice and makes for a more creamy coffee like sipping experience.
Overall – I would have liked a little more coffee flavor, but overall it was pretty easy drinking. Worth a try, but not one I will likely frequent often.

From a bottle, pours as a very dark opaque brown with a thin khaki head; fair carbonation. Aroma is slightly malty and I might persuade myself that there was some coffee in it. Taste is straight-up "roast coffee with benefits"; kinda interesting, with hints of caramel and even chocolate. Sadly, at the tail end, it just feels watery, sweetly carbonated and thin; great if this was a soda.

Pours jet black with a 3 finger creamy mocha colored head. Smell cacao, coffee, mild black licorice. Actually can taste DD coffee, cocoa nibs, mild char. Feel is light to medium body with a semi dry finish. Overall this is a really easy to drink porter. I like this better than their Dunkin pale ale. If you like coffee forward beers this one really works. I am not sure what people are expecting from a Porter,I really don't get the lower scores.

Pours a dark brown color with a moderate head. Head soon dissipates and yields thin ring ring lacing.

A pleasant coffee nose along with notes of dark chocolate and dark biscuity malt. Subtle aromas of earthy and woody hops.

Full bodied and mouth coating with lots of roasted malt and coffee bitterness.Flavors of bittersweet dark chocolate, toasty and biscuity malts. A modest amount of developing creamy sweetness, yet, dry and bitter overall. Hops flavors are woody and earthy. A smooth carbonation with some bite. The finish is roasty and bitter.

I’ve seen this around for quite sometime and finally gave it a try. I’m glad I did, as it was solid and tasty and well balanced.

Super dark with a fat tan head and powerful aromas of coffee, charred malt, and roastiness... Followed by much of the same on the sip - only mildly sweet, with a bitter roasted dark cocoa and coffee character... Smooth, fairly light but has a reasonable body to it... Really enjoyable - 'specially for fans of coffee porters and stouts in the modest abv range... 9/23/19 bottling...

From the neck of the bottle in yellow ink: "PKG 281 10/07/19 07:09"

Appearance: The body is black and it has a short fluffy khaki head with different sized bubbles. Moderate head retention. Good lacing.

Aroma: It smells a bit like burnt wood and burnt caramel.

Taste: There is a light bit of woody character up front hinting with a touch of pine. In the middle there is a light carbon flavor that is noticeably not bitter.

Mouthfeel: The body feels a bit too thin for the beer. Carbonation feels a bit high as well, slightly hindering drinkability.

Overall: The label on the bottle touts this as a "COFFEE PORTER" but it really doesn't have any coffee aroma or flavor. There is no lingering aftertaste of anything so even after the malt flavor fades there still is no remnant of coffee. It basically just tastes like a Porter. It would be an alright beer to drink but I wouldn't recommend it to people looking for something with coffee. I wouldn't buy it again given the lack of its namesake flavor.

A black color on the pour with a good amount of carbonation and a frothy brown/off-white head of bubbles. Its not very floral on the nose with light chocolate malt and a touch of coffee. The drinking starts with a decent amount of chocolate malt upfront. Right away, the thin feel of this brew is very evident. I get the coffee flavor but its a bit muted. It comes off as more of a dry roasted coffee grind flavor. Decent robust notes with a subtle smoke tone. Again, the mouth feel is on the lighter side with a dry and not very sweet feel. The body even walks the line of being watery at times.

Overall, I really wanted this to be good but its rather average at best.

Dunkin' Coffee Porter | Harpoon Brewery & Beer Hall. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, I'm seeing a three finger thick eggshell brown head, webbed lacing, and a black body.

The smell is mellower on the coffee than one might expect. Got some roasted malts, too.

Okay the coffee is here and tastes great. This is one of the better-tasting coffee porters I've tried.

Medium mouthfeel with mild carbonation.

Dunkin' Coffee Porter | Harpoon Brewery & Beer Hall gets an overall 4.75 from yours truly. I definitely recommend you get your hands on this before they're all gone(if not already).

O- solid coffee porter that showcases the coffee

Pours an effervescent mahogany with a thumb+ of rocky tan head. Nice head retention & lacing

S: Plenty of coffee

T: Roastyness, then coffee, dryness as well along with a little Baker's Chocolate up front. Roasty dryness & coffee as this warms. Finishes dry with a kiss of vanilla, but mostly coffee

MF: Medium body, firm carbonation, thins a touch once warm

A solid coffee beer/porter

Pours a dark shiny black color. Thick tan head dissipates steadily but not completely leaving a thin but complete layer of velvety foam on top of the beer.

Aroma has notes of coffee, roasted malts, cocoa, and a hint of creme. Simple and straightforward.

Taste follows the nose with notes of roasted malts, coffee, and cocoa. A touch of sweet creme. Nice slight bittering hops come through on the backend. Again, its simple and straightforward, but well executed.

Feel is lighter, somewhat thin with a very smooth mouthfeel. Mild carbonation.

Overall a solid coffee porter.

From tasting notes 01/20/19
Had poured from a bottle into a glass at The Green Turtle, Hunt Valley, MD

Appearance - Poured into a standard pint glass, black with cola brown edging wher light can penetrate, with a light tan, finger width head. Fair retention before dying down to a thin, broken layer of suds. Fair lacing with broken lines and small spotting.

Smell - Fair roastiness and lesser caramel sweetness. Faint chocolate as well.

Taste - Follows the nose. A decent amount of coffee roast upfront and throughout while a consistent, underlying caramel sweetness follows through. There are hints of chocolate, but not much. Coffee roast dies down near the finish, allowing a bit more of that caramel sweetness to come out in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Light-bodied with moderate carbonation. Drinks smooth, but fairly thin for the style.

Overall - Good, solid porter that is totally drinkable, but pretty simple and a bit thin all the same.

Pours black with two fingers of khaki foam. Head retention is good with a dense ring of lacing left behind. Aroma is roasty and toasty malts right up front, with the scale tipping towards 'bitter'. Medium-roast coffee with a light charring follows, evoking memories of fresh gas station coffee. Dark chocolate and toast round out the aroma. Flavor profile is smooth and creamy roasty and toasty malts with fresh gas station coffee, dark chocolate and toast woven in-between. Despite the creamy and smooth start, it decays into a bitter center which holds through to the finish. Mouth feel is lightly creamy and smooth with a medium thickness. Overall, roasty and toasty malts are solid, but the coffee addition comes off bitter and charred. It's akin to what might be served in a ceramic mug from a well-used Bunn coffee pot at America's Favorite Diner, in other words, nothing ritzy or refined.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 12oz bottle.

This beer pours a simple black with a solid dark mocha head. The aroma is inviting, with light roast coffee, milk chocolate, hazelnut, and malted milk. The flavor is again semi sweet and mild, with milk chocolate, cream, and malted milk. The mouthfeel is quite light and thin, with faint carbonation. Overall a nice mellow, with a light coffee flavor and milk chocolate notes, it does call up an idea of donuts, as I m sure was intended.

12oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled faintly of coffee, chocolate and toffee. Sweet chocolate and toffee with a mild coffee bite.
