Look...Hazy yellow with a white carbonated head.
Smell...Not as much as this style requires but decent. Mild tangerine citrus and smell of light hops.
Taste...definitely juicy out front followed by a tangerine tang with a rind finish of pulpy. i am always looking for a full taste session that hits the mark so well. I believe it is easier to get the taste of a pale ale(so called light beer)) than an IPA in a session this is an observation i have made.
Feel..A prickly carbonation that really helps the fullness of this beer. I will absolutely dig this on a hot summer day
Overall...A little PO'd at myself for not finding this in the heat of the summer. Always a little skeptical of the big boys of the microbreweries I really grew up with here in New England. The explosion of great craft brewing in Connecticut and New England today has introduced doubt to me for the big boys try doing Hazy PAs and IPAs
Have to try their options more often. I think it is mostly being spoiled by so many others. Many of their beers were staples for me for years

A: Pours a hazy pale to medium yellow in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and moderate straw yellow + lemon yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall fluffy cloudy sudsy foamy white head that reduces to a medium to large sized patch of thick film covering a little more than 35% of the surface of the beer surrounded by a large patch of mottled very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit + citrus/grapefruit pith + citrus/grapefruit zest + citrus/lime zest + herbal/eucalyptus hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + grainy hops with minimal amounts of grainy sweetness.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + grainy hops with minimal amounts of grainy sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit + citrus/grapefruit pith + citrus/grapefruit zest + citrus/lime zest + herbal/eucalyptus hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which does not linger for too long leaving hints of citrus zest hops in the finish.

M: Slightly heavier than light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp upfront with a very light amount of soft/fluffiness mid-body and a hint of dryness in the finish. Slightly thin/watery.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly light refreshing mouthfeel. Enjoyable with an interesting combination of citrus + herbal hops flavors. Definitely one I would grab again and much better than some of the other lower calorie pale ales available.

12oz can, tulip, canned 8/2/21.

Very hazy mustard yellow or maybe orange with a frothy head. Quite enticing.

Stone fruit, possibly apricot, and orange and lemon zest. Maybe a little salty. Very nice strength for a “mini IPA”.

A little juicy and a little oily. Slightly puckering orange juice and just a lot of yellow citrus.

Despite being hazy it’s got a crisp, bubbly mouthfeel and a light body.

This is a very enjoyable shot at the session IPA category. Hazy and intense, but crisp.

12oz can purchased off the shelf as part of a 15-pack for $22.79. Canned on 10/5/20, which makes this exactly 6 months old at the time of review...very much less than ideal timing.

Look: Has a moderately hazy, "light orange juice" appearance. Impressive that there are no floaties in this, being 6 months old and not refrigerated. A tall head on the pour, it was also very rocky and eventually diminished, leaving behind nice lacing on the glass.

Smell: The aroma is interesting, and my impression should be taken with a grain of salt as this beer should ideally be consumed fresher. My initial reaction is that it smells soapy. There's some bright, juicy orange citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, and floral notes as well...but I am left with a soapy note that seems weird. Could this soapy note be from the buckwheat kasha, chia seeds, and/or sea salt? Or is the soapiness from the fact that the beer is not so fresh?

Taste: Fortunately, I think that the taste redeems the soapy note on the nose. Surprisingly, this tastes quite good for being 6 months old. Nice orange and grapefruit citrus notes with mild tanginess and juicy sweetness. The finish is a bit pithy and mildly bitter, lingers quite long considering that this is a light 4.0% ABV beer. I'm trying to detect how the special ingredients are contributing to the flavors...the sea salt is probably enhancing the citrus flavors and tanginess and giving some interesting minerality. The chia seeds probably give some body and mouthfeel. I have no idea about the buckwheat kasha...maybe spiciness (kind of like the use of wheat) and body?

Feel: Mouthfeel is light to medium and soft. Nicely carbonated. Well done - the mouthfeel does not give you the impression that this is a "light beer".

Overall: This is one of the better light beers that I have had. Considering that this is 4.0% ABV and 6 months old, clearly this beer is awesome. I wish that it didn't have the soapy note, but I am going to give it the benefit of the doubt because it's not a fresh can.

Hazy yellow, lots of lacing, but obviously doesn't hang around as long as on a 9.0% DIPA bomb. Smells a little of pine, corn, orange rind, perfume, and malt. Lemony biscuit taste, with a bit of piney hops. Carbonation and lemon zest linger. Albeit obviously on the milder side, it's kind of amazing they managed to fit all those scents and tastes in a 4.0%, low calorie beer. One of the best of its kind. Amazing can, too. Very smooth '70s. Racquetball, anyone?

Poured from a can dated 7/2/20, seems a bit old to be in my local shop in a variety pack alongside their Octoberfest and Flannel Friday fall beers... but oh well.

Pours a hazy straw yellow with a dense irregular white head.
Smells hoppy, light citrus.
Taste follows with more citrus hops, orange peel and crispy malty grains.
Feels light but full of flavor. Sharp carbonation and moderate bitterness, with a lingering dry finish and a somewhat mineral quality. Very refreshing and very sessionable.

Overall, a tasty session pale ale. The non-standard grains and addition of sea salt (which I didn't read until after I started drinking and reviewed it) totally work. Plenty of flavor for a light session ale. I wish I picked this up earlier, I'd be drinking it all summer!

Hey..... it is what it is: a light, refreshing beer that tastes great after a long run, hike, or other strenuous activity and won't get you inebriated after 1.... or four. Great option for when you want to be functional and coherent. Really good.

From the bottle, it pours a nice hazy amber with a nice white head that lasts a while. Pleasantly hoppy in the nose. In the mouth, it is a smooth feeling lightly malty and hoppy ale. Nice!

Bottled 4/2/19.......FUCK

Well, I had been seeing this around for a while and finally decided to grab a single when I had to round off a mixed 6 pack. It was cheap and light, and I thought it could be pretty good. I don’t have much faith in this at 15 months after bottling

Pours a hazy pale yellow with just a finger of white head that reduces to a ring and leaves no lacing

Smells surprisingly fresh still. The melon is intensely sweet and counterbalanced by tart pineapple and peach. The sea salt is a minor note that works well with other notes of orange and general citrus

The taste starts off with lightly tart lemon and mild melon. Unfortunately, after the swallow, the freshness issues start to show. For starters, the tropical blend in the aroma becomes very bland. What’s left of the hops is piney, but the malt doesn’t feel crisp and biting

This has a light medium body with almost no carbonation. It drinks very easy as expected for the abv, but due to the age here it’s not very refreshing

This one would be a stellar budget choice if I could find it fresh. I won’t fault it for the issues, but I did rate it to taste
