Notes: Light, crisp, refreshing UFO White follows in the tradition of spiced wheat beers that have been brewed in Belgium for well over 300 years. Brewed with orange peel and a unique blend of spices, UFO White is the perfect choice for a summer’s barbecue, a night out with friends or any time you¹re thirsting for something a little different. Like UFO Hefeweizen and UFO Raspberry Hefeweizen, we leave UFO White Unfiltered for a more natural taste and appearance.

This unfiltered witbier is deep gold and cloudy with a slight yeast sediment. Head and lacing aren't a significant part of the experience, but flavor certainly is. The nose is a blend of herbal/spicy flavor hops notes that remind me of a European pilsner; on the palate these are joined by very pronounced coriander and bitter orange peel flavors, and a light hops bitterness that matches the nose but vanishes on the finish, leaving just the bitterness of the orange peel. The light body, surprisingly lively carbonation and the transience of the hops bitterness make for a crisp finish that I would more expect from a lager. This is a very refreshing beer.

I love this beer. A few sips in, take the time to breathe in through your mouth and you'll really feel the power of the alcohol. Then breathe out through your nose--that's where the orange peel reveals itself into an almost floral zen.

I could be wrong, but this beer is so citrusy, also has a very honey texture when sipped. But it's not heavy. I prefer this over Blue Moon, which, on the contrary, can get sickening. This is personal preference, even with foods, stuff that's too heavy does not appeal to me.

Very smooth pour, head is not thick, but that's okay because the foam will probably delay the enjoyment by just a few microseconds. You want the citrus to hit you w/ a pang for this one.

The malt comes way after.

Poured into narrow glass: color is gold, hazy, head is brighter white and presented about 1/2 inch thick and then dissipated to top and then to a ring, some spotty lacing.

Smell is lightly bready, biscuit, then some zippy citrus and light coriander.

Taste is similar with bread, biscuit, light citrus (less lemon like than aroma) with subtle spices, coriander dominant; a bit of bite to the flavor with less yeast like spiciness than others.

Mouthfeel is crisp, a bit of bite, not overly carbonated but just a bit sharper than some in the style.

Overall a good beer but a bit on the simplified end for a witbier - some wheat, some spice and some citrus notes.

This is a great refreshing Witbier. Lightly flavored Orange , with a delicious aftertaste. Very similar to Shock Top original, but without the sweetness. Highly recommend this beer

A - translucent wheat gold

S - light, crisp, a bit of citrus

T - refreshing wheat beer without being plain at all, actually an enjoyable flavor

M - light but heavily carbonated, refreshing after being out in the sun

D - quite so - no one flavor is overpowering the other

After having the UFO Hefe I was happy to pick up this six pack (as it was also on sale for the week!!!) and give it a try. Glad I did. Just a refreshing as the Hefe and just as enjoyable. I look forward to finishing this six pack (especially as the afternoons warm up).

12 oz brown bottle with a "Best By" freshness date printed on the bottle.

The head is not shy to tower to the top of the glass, that is for sure as it leaves a sticky white lace on the glass. Hazed pale yellow straw color. Hint of spice and wheat malt in the nose, a bit of yeast as well. Solid crispness with a rolling smoothness over the medium body. Light and fluffy wheat maltiness is a strong enough base for the style, spiciness is assertive but not overbearing with a slight kiss of bitterness from the coriander and a soft edge of orange peel. A little dry breadiness and nutty yeast in the semi-dry finish.

While Harpoon's version is missing the tart plum fruitiness seen in most Witbiers it makes up for that with balance and drinkability which is what the style is about.

This is one of the best Belgian style wit beers I've sampled. It has all the hints of coriander and orange that other wit beers have (similar to Hoegaarden) and what I enjoyed the most about this beer is how crisp the flavor and pleasing the after-taste. This is one smooth drink. Will definitely have some more.

How have I not had this before? I've reviewed 11 beers from Harpoon over the years on here but somehow, this slipped through. I love my Belgian Witbiers and even though it's not spring, this was still enjoyable on a muggy summer's night such as tonight!

Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was bright, golden, and topped off with plenty of slow-settling head. Wasn't surprised at the lack of lacing left behind even though that wasn't indicative of the consistency of this beer. Usual array of flavors in the nose - banana, coriander, wheat, and orange peel as the taste contained all of those to a greater extent. Some bubblegum sweetness and hints of white chocolate dryness came in as this warmed up but overall, this was typical for the style and easily accessible; as any Belgian Witbier should be!

Not a lot of booze here which makes this so easy to quaff as it left me wanting for another bottle. Sure, I picked this up at Gary's in Wayne and could easily go back and get some more but next time, I'd just buy a six-pack of this. Not the best in it's style but when something's this good and this easy to find, you ride with it. A great beer for a summer gathering or as an improvement over Blue Moon!

Appearance: Slightly hazy medium golden in color with a massive cloud-top head, which retains quite well. Scattered, patchy lacing adorns the glass walls. The carbonation is very slight, an occasional bubble rises quickly to the surface.

Aroma: Quite prominent coriander and orange, the orange is more like orange juice than the traditional bitter orange rind associated with the style. There are lesser bread notes as well, but the orange and coriander dominate.

Taste: Bready malt notes at the open, followed by a modest wave of coriander, and some bitter orange. Late in the taste, there is a bit of herbal hop bitterness to balance the flavor.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, pleasant.

Drinkability/notes: Not bad in all, not as good as Hoegaarden, but not bad at all.

Presentation: Packaged in a twelve-ounce brown glass long-neck bottle with a pry-off crown, served a standard Pilsener glass.
