Pours with a two finger thick, tan colored head that sits atop a brilliantly clear, concentrated honey, amber colored brew. As I pour this beer I swear I get notes of salty peat. As I go in for a deeper smell the salty peat notes die off, but are still just barely enough there to suggest that there might be some peat used in this recipe. Notes of fruity (apple, pear and raisin) caramel, toasted malt and hints of biscuits.
Soft and creamy feeling up front, a touch of spiciness, hops and carbonations tenders this as a sip moves past the tongue. The beer is fairly sweet, which accentuates notes of raisins and caramelized apples as well as some notes of cherries at times. Hints of smoky flavors, a touch of saltiness. I like how the soft malt sweetness balances with the astringent smoky, salt notes. Some touches of herbal hop character, a touch of bitterness. Light to medium mouthfeel, with just enough body to keep it from being thin.
This is a lot better than I was expecting; I really like the interesting fruit notes and how they mix with the caramelized malt character and some of the more savory notes.

22oz. brown bomber pours a murky brown copper with a 1/4", short lasting, light tan head.
The nose is full of thick, heavy malt...sweet and chewy kind of malt. No hops to note at all.
Red apple, cherry, a bit of vanilla, this brew is definitely for the hop impaired. Good tasting malty brew that's sweet, but not overly so. Rich and flavorful malt that does seem to fit the style, as does the potency that seems about 6-7% ABV.
Easy to drink with a medium plus body, ample carbonation and a good full flavor...kind of a "malt bomb", if you will.

Pours amber colored, with a big white head. Carbonation/head quickly dissipates.
Taste, and flavor, are sweet, sweet malt with maybe a hint of wheat ... actually, it's pretty much just malt. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but not overly so; surprisingly robust.
For some reason, this beer just hit the spot. Not the most flavorful or best looking beer I've had, but very satisfying.

A- Starts out with a nice off white head that leaves some lacing. This brew is reddish orange in color.
S- Smells rich and malty, slightly sweet. The nose seems a bit off kilter.
T- Piney with a slight alcohol flavor. Finishes a bit mettalic.
M- This beer is very thick and highly carbonated. Feels good going down.
D- The thickness makes it a sipper but all in all its a good brew that is fairly drinkable.

22oz brown capped bottle. Poured into the new sam adams pint/tulip glass it forms a fluffy white head. It falls to a solid cover and there is stringy lace. Bright copper body.
First thought was that this has a fresh wert type rawness to it that I found enjoyable. Leans towards the malty / sweeter side of a wee heavy. Suggestions of apple and pear lay underneath a spiced hop snap. A touch of burbon cask also adds some depth to the project. It gets doughy and heavily breaded at times but overall its a decent offering.
Notes: Not exactly what I'm looking for in a wee heavy but it holds its own. Worthy of a pickup.

Mine poured a very clear ruby color with a moderate light tan head and good lacing. A steady stream of bubbles rose from the bottom of my Duvel glass. A very attractive pour. Nose is very malty with slight overtones of fruit and caramel. Mouthfeel shows the alcohol, and carbonation is apparent. Flavors of malts and a somewhat sweet finish that is somewhat offputting. In fact the last swallow tasted like mouthwash. Overall this brew started stong but faded in the stretch.

Pours a dark golden amber color with a half finger head that melts to a ring of sticky lacing.
Aromas are not very pronounced....faint smoke and amber malt sweetness but little else.
Taste is more than the aromas, for sure. Toasted amber malt with a hint of smokiness....sweet candy syurp, then a cloying aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is creamy but aftertaste is artificial somehow.

Pours a light root beer color with an amber hue, an off white minimal head, and some carb action.
Has a licorice/vanilla caramel malt smell and the hop aroma is some what buried.
Mod/heavy sweet, lightly/mod acidic, light bitterness, and vanilla caramel/molasses malt taste with a grapefruit hop flavor.
Med/full bodied, slightly syrupy texture, soft carbonation, and a smooth vanilla/grapefruit finish.
Too sweet with the vanilla flavor for me.

After the appearance, good deep copper color, thick off white head, excelent lacing, this beer was pretty pedestrian. Mouthfeel was rather watery for a "wee heavy", an the taste profile was a bit weird. While malty, there was a funny aftertaste that I could not pinpoint as far as a source. I ended up thinking raisins. A reputable pub and one we enjoy frequenting had this on tap for only three bucks. Probably would not order it again.

Pours a red colored ale.
Smell is a little smoky with some malt and a mild fruitiness to it. Little caramel scent and some herbal scents.
Taste is fairly malty with a large herbal hop presence. A little bit of smoky flavor here but it is dominated by the hopping. Taste is OK but not exact to style.
Mouthfeel is thin for the style.
An OK drinkable beer but there are many better than this. I wont buy this again.

The best part of the beer is the smell--smokey, malty, and ... sweet maple (not the syrup)--the rest is pretty lackluster. Head doesn't release much, mouthfeel could be thicker for a S.A. and it could have more alcohol like the other S.A.s out there. To those out there thinking this is a Wee Heavy, don't be fooled.

Medium brown color, large white foamy head. Aroma is malty and sweet. Medium malts and hops. Medium bodied sctoch ale. Nice full malt flavor, some smokiness to the malts. Nice balance. Full round mouthfeel. Finish is smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
