330ml bottle poured into a teku glass.

Mildly hazed golden orange color with thick white frothy head that stays with good retention, it gradually dissipates to everlasting bubble sheet atop and leaving plenty of sticky lacing patch and spot on the glass-side.

Hop forwards in the aroma with inviting scents of citrus, lemon, tropical fruit in kind of passion fruit/mango/jackfruit/pineapple, as well as berry, pine, and resin while malt with its sweet, bread, and caramel.

The taste is crisp and well-rounded with fruity hop in the lead. I can get all the fruit characters that reflect in a nose as well as piney resin. Malt lays as a firm base with its bread, some sweet, and caramel to progressively drive hop forwards. Finish is pleasant with a strong presence of dry hop bitterness.

The body is medium with good crispness and lively carbonation. The feeling is refreshing with soft effervescence and smooth mouthfeel, very dry finish.

It won’t go wrong as usual when it comes to Tuatara. As well as this tasty APA, good brew without any doubt.

Solid, hoppy APA. Slightly too malt to finish, otherwise would be my top APA.

Copper gold with a few bubbles, topped with 5 fingers of yellow ocher tinged fluffy head.

Fruity bouquet of scents, pineapple, pine, durian, jackfruit. Roses and orchids.

Jackfruit, pineapple, orange rind and grapefruit. Garlic, light sweetness, light bitterness.

Light body, moderately low carbonation.

Beautifully well rounded beer. Very delightful, and worth a go. Drank April 25th, 2016 in Chiang Mai.

(Quick Review):
Drank from on tap in a pint glass at Inchbar, Dunedin. Served quite cold, so it took a while for the taste/smell to come through. Clear dark amber with less head than I was expecting. Smelled nice and hoppy though the roastiness seemed to overpower the hops in both the nose and the taste. Smelled nice, roasted malt with a tiny bit of pine. Somewhat harsh bitter flavours abound, and the final product wasn't all that balanced. Nothing was all that clear, as the grain and hops were muddled together. A nice mouthfeel, smooth and with a crisp aftertaste. It's not bad, worth having again, but only at a warmer temp to let the hops come out more.

Poured a hazy, dark-gold colour with a foamy, creamy head.

Aromas of sweet honey with slightly spicy hops.

Tasted almost like a sweet honey-mead throughout with hints of bitter, spicy hops at the finish. Medium-bodied, but still refreshing.

Would I buy it again? Yes.

Format: a solid brown 500mL bottles embossed with the scales and ridges of a reptile of some sort - crocodile? An average macro-looking label.

Appearance: poured into a tulip glass - a hazy light amber-yellow in colour with a finger of off-white head that hangs about for quite a time. drops to a creamy half-finger.

Aroma: this is a great smelling pale ale - definitely comes across more as an AIPA than an APA. Plenty of citrus and pine as usual, with some tropical fruits and biscuit malts. A promise of things to come?

Taste: the palate adopts most of the flavours evident on the nose, however with a definite diminishing of strength. It still comes across more as an IPA rather than a Pale Ale, but a bit wishy-washy.

Aftertaste: all of the flavours linger in the mouth, with a touch of bitterness. The bitterness does have some flavour, but only some.

Mouth feel: a light- to-moderate feel with a moderate carbonation that fails to provided a decent body. It comes across as a bit flat, which doesn't bring the flavours through properly. A pity, really.

Overall: this could have been a really nice India Pale Ale, if it had more oomph from the body, I know it is meant to be an APA, but the flavours and aroma are much more akin to an AIPA. The flavours are about right, but the body is far too flat and flaccid. Add a price of AU$9 per 500mL bottle - or an estimated AU$105 equivalent for 24 x 330mL, and this one ain't worth it.
