Colored somewhere in between flanders red and brown. Oak aroma, acetic acid. Definitely brown over red here.

Taste finally pops, solid tartness from the grapes, bittering. Equal parts beer and wine. Grapes are substantial.

Pours a brown and red colored liquid, not much for head and definitely not good at retention. But the color and relative density still gets it up to an average score. Aroma, the grapes are somewhat under the radar, but present if you look for 'em. Some oak flavor in the soggy, dark rodenbach vein, slight vinegar feel.

Taste, pleasantly surprising how good it is. Gets over the vinegar, gets those red and peat malt stuff working with solid sour notes, not huge, but enjoyable. Carbonation is just right. Barrel aged sour brown is described, but comes across more of a barrel aged red, maybe due to the 1200 lbs of cabernet grapes, giving it more of a red wine feel more than brown ale (a good thing).

Overall, while its nothing to look at or smell, its an enjoyable beer to drink. One of the best blurring of the wine/beer drink ive ever had. Hides alcohol well.
