Very fruity aroma... orange or mango, pineapple. Dark orange with a slight which head, becoming a ring quickly. There were lots of stringy globs in the bottle of the bottle. Not much carbonation. Visible floaties. Initial hit of bitter, fruit taste with bitterness in the middle, finishing with a quite bitter aftertaste. In other words, bitter throughout, but not palate-wrecking bitterness, with the tropical fruits coming through in the middle. Finish is a bit piney as well. Overall, unusual, but an enjoyable beer. The bitter hops is a nice balance to the underlying sweetness of this beer. Easy to drink, but the bitterness grows as you drink.

brewed with honey, this is a pretty cool take on the increasingly generic double ipa style. i dont think the hops come through quite as well as they do in the regular bubble jack, this is more malty and sweet by nature, but the balance is awesome and the freshness is on point and i like the beer a whole lot overall. i think the honey adds something unique for sure, some residual floral brightness that makes this rather easy drinking despite the accompanying sweetness, and its super complimentary to the hops, bringing out more of the oily and herbal side than any real fruity notes. some pine here too, gin-like, botanical, very fresh. fuller body too, but well carbonated and smooth. the honey isnt too sweet, but it does add a bit of that. i have liked the beers i have had from these guys quite a lot, and this is certainly the boldest and strongest of the lot. i have not been into the big ipas lately because more and more they are all tasting the same, or at least more and more alike as everyone goes to the citra mosaic complex, but this is decidedly different, the honey really makes it. maybe i couldnt drink four of these, but a couple is great, especially this time of year. very pleased with this one.

Pours a murky golden color. There is minimal head when poured from the bottle. The nose is light citrus smelling. the taste of this beer is hoppy. Light citrus. Somewhat pinapple tasting. Not bad.

for an imperial ipa, this is actually pretty reserved. the honey really seems to do a good job of neutralizing the bitterness of the hops. the beer itself isn't really that remarkable, and i don't know that the honey really adds all that much, but it's pretty easily consumed.
pale yellow and opaque. sweet from malt and honey.
not bad.

Pours a light amber color, with barely any signs of carbonation. Relatively large foamy head.
Sweet, yet subtle smell. There was a sour aspect to the smell which was quite off-putting to me.
A unique flavor. Heavy on malts, with some fruity sweetness. There is basically no bitterness. Mouthfeel is light.
This is completely different from what I expected going in, and I do see how someone might appreciate more than myself. Yet, this certainly did not tickle my fancy.
