A great Imperial IPA. I've only had it on tap, and when served, there was little head, but that didn't stand in my way of falling in love with this one. Appearance is golden with a little haziness.
A nice hoppy but sweet aroma and bold flavor with a great finish with a little alcoholic bite. The finish is really what hooks you. Sip, reflect, and you are longing for another sip.
Currently limited distribution in kegs only - hoping that a limited bottle run might follow!

Pours a cloudy orange with a dense white head that leaves lots of lacing.
Lots of fruitiness in the aroma. Pineapple, mango, citrus. Some notes of candied fruit and a bit of a vegetal smell.
Taste runs bitter-sweet-bitter. Piney and resinous up front with notes of sweet orange juice and pineapple in the middle and a long pithy and piney finish.
Mouthfeel is about medium and a bit sticky.
All in all, pretty tasty.

Starts with a grassy herbal resiny hop nose over caramel, malt and honey.
Pours brilliant gold under a 3" rocky off-white head that dissipates by about 2/3s. Produces thick lace.
A creamy palate presents light fruit and malt flavors that do suggest double bubble gum and it finishes with a rich hop accent. There is some light hop astringency on the finish.
The beer's body is just a hair above medium and its carbonation is just a hair below.

Poured a cloudy golden color with lots of fluffy white head. Good lacing. As stated on the bottle this is definitely an unfiltered beer. Lots of sediment floating in this one.
Smell is slightly hoppy and heavy citrus aroma.
Taste is a little funky. Not bad though. A little malt upfront and lots of hops in the middle and finish.
Mouthfeel is light and this one went down very smooth.
Overall a pretty decent DIPA. I'd go for this one again. I liked it a lot better than their regular IPA.

Big off white head slowly recedes above a clear well carbonated straw golden colored beer.
Pretty noticeable citrus hops aroma with a bit off fresh pine included.
Citrus, pine and some grassy notes in the taste of this hops tasting imperial.
Pretty dry aftertaste that almost puckers a person. There is a bit of the citrus tastes remaining with this medium bodied IPA.
Decent tasting but I would actually like a bit more from a imperial.

on-tap, malt house on friday night
appearance: served in the smaller version of the nonic pint, straw golden body, frothy white cap with good retention
smell: raw citrus, bubblegum, grapefruit, grain
taste: rush river's offerings arent very refined, but they've managed to use the hop pretty well across their offerings - grapefruit zest, orange peel, grainy aftertaste. good, but could use some polishing
mouthfeel: medium-light body
drinkability: fine

On-tap at the Blue Nile. Served in a pint glass, it was a clear, light amber with a short white head. I appreciated that for the strength, the body wasn't too thick or the malt too sweet. I'd just want more hops to this DIPA. There was a great mix of fruity, almost sweet-tasting citrus hops with piney spice. It fills the aroma and coats the tongue. Delicious. It's not the biggest DIPA, but it's a fine example of the style.

Pale amber color with several fingers of head that had great retention. The head settles to a thick, rocky cap. Moderate amount of sticky lacing is left on the glass.
The aroma is not what I would describe as DIPA hoppy. The hops are not really "in your face". The hops do give off perfumy, floral, as well lemon aromas. Also a bready malt profile. A touch of sulfer as well. Alcohol is not detected.
I just a little disappointed in the flavor. Has all the hop bitterness of a DIPA without that much hop flavor. What hop flavor I do taste is lemon. Malt gives a solid bready foundation. More than slightly bitter and quite warm in the finish. All the ABV is detectable.
Moderate body and nicely carbonated. The bottle conditioning was well done.
Not my kind of DIPA. Some parts were done very well but the aroma and flavor did not hit the mark.
