Nearly clear gold with dissipating white foam and gentle lacing. CfAroma of grass, flowers, resin, and light malt. Taste is initially sweet and caramelly, then a flood of drying resin and slight earthy spiciness. Enough bitterness, but not enough crispness for the style. No esters, but flavors are just a little muddled. Hops are nugget and mt. Hood, according to menu, which isn't right for the style, and the choice may detract from the crispness.

Glad to see a pub lagering!

A: Pours a clear copper/orange color. A small white head forms and leaves no lace.
S: Not much here. Sweet malt with a light orange and lemon peal aroma.
T: Sweet malt, grain, and floral hops linger. Again, not much is going on.
M/D: A light to medium body that has crisp carbonation. Easy to drink if I wanted to.

Nothing special, decent for the most part. Just an average lager.

On-tap poured into a 20 oz. pint glass.

A - Low white head with no lacing, pour is a slightly hazy golden yellow color.

S - Fairly earthy with grassy malts and mild citrusy hops lurking in there.

T - Malt profile borders on pilsner-style with some faint traces of corn and grassy malt, but with a nice breadcrust complexion. Also nicely hopped to keep it lively but not bitter.

M - Medium body and medium carbonation, nice and slick.

D - Excellent session beer, goes well with food and stands up on its own.

Denver airport, July 26, 2009:

Delivered to the bar, a clear golden body is topped by a short head of foamy bright-white that dissipates fairly readily leaving only a thin collar. Only minor lacing is left behind. (Dirty glass?)

The aroma expresses sweetish grainy malt with just a whiff of background hop.

The body is medium, and it's got a standard carbonation level.

The flavor is a little sweet with grainy malt. It's backed by a firm bitterness, but it's not quite enough to match the maltiness. So which is it, too much malt, or too little bitterness? Perhaps a bit of both, but I'm going to go with a bit too much malt.

Fortunately, there's more hop flavor here than the nose suggests. It's floral, and a touch grassy. It finishes fairly dry as the malt fades.

Basically to style for a stronger, less hoppy version of a German pils. It's an enjoyable lager that makes a great cross-over beer for the macro drinker.

A very refreshing lager with some neat subtle flavors and aromas going on in it to keep your interest.

A - pale light yellow

S - crisp, light, hop citrus notes

T - Very clean and balanced. Goot hop balance and range for this style.

M - Crips and dry

D - Very easy to drink and really nice lingering flavor.

** Note: they opened up a restaurant inside Terminal A at Denver International Airport!! And the good thing about DIA is that no matter what terminal you are in, you can travel to other terminals without having to leave and go through security again. So a great place to check out some beer on your layover. I asked the beer on tap there is brewed from the Downtown Denver Chophouse location.

A "hoppy" German lager, as the Chophouse folks say it.
Pours an amber color, kinda thin looking. Nice head contrasting with the body; white about 1 finger. Settles to a slight film.
Smell of pilsner. Sweet hops, earhty yeast and semi-old socks. This is not my style, but I thought I'd try it.
Taste is good for me. Just enought hops to tame the malt. And I thank the beer gods for that. I'm not a Pilsner guy (despite and month in Prague). However, I can drink this one. Crisp finish for the style and drinkable in summer.
